Leafs are listening to offers on JVR.

Sharks and Kings as teams I could see as good fits for JVR. Though neither team I really see having any NHL ready dman they could trade for him, so it'd have to be prospects.

Or if Jets want to get in on it, Trouba would be a real good fit for the Leafs, and we all know he's not staying with the Jets long term either, maybe we could get a JVR-Trouba type deal.

Hmm, wonder if GMJR will make a call? He would look great with 87.

Fleury would have to be dealt first I'd imagine to get under the cap. But who would Pens give up for JVR though? Only NHL roster guy I could see Leafs really having interest is is Maatta. Or if Derrick Pouliot is part of the deal, that'd be a nice return too.

Oh man, JVR seems like the kind of player who would be devastating alongside Crosby.

Still upset we traded him for Luke stinkin' Schenn.

All-star game rosters announced(at least for now, before players pull out with "injuries")

I'm saying Metropolitan division vs Central division in the finals, and central division wins.

But with 3 on 3 format, we could have a line of Crosby,Ovechkin,Malkin!

Not exactly NHL news but still thought it should go here.

Hayley Wickenheiser(aka greatest women hockey player of all time) announced her retirement.

Won olympic gold with Canada 4 times!

For me at least, that 02 womens team(who won gold in Salt Lake by defeating the US) is what put womens hockey on the map for me. Now the last of that team is retired.

Islanders look like they're gonna be out of Barclays Center after 18-19 season.

Wonder if all this could end up being similar to the Cleveland Browns situation. Announce the move of a longtime team(who at one point won at least 4 straight championships), the whole thing ends up real bitter for the fanbase, but eventually they get their team back once they get a new place to play. So basically they'd be "suspended" until the new arena happens.

And through all this, if Tavares somehow stays......

Don't know how/why he even would want to stay with the team. 1 playoff series win his entire time there, this year they likely won't make the playoffs, and who knows what the fate of the team would even be past 2019(he becomes a FA in 2018).

It's going to be very interesting what happens. Building another venue in Queens will be a problem, the Barn (even though it has been renovated) is too small for an NHL team, and I doubt the Rangers will be sharing MSG with the Islanders

Seattle still can't until they have an arena built. QC obviously would be a top candidate if they move, and by 2019 I wonder if KC(who has an arena built already despite no pro team) might be interested.

KC,QC, Seattle could get the Islanders,Canes and expansion team.

                          Exactly.

Ever since they announced the move, people talked about how Barclay's was not set up for Hockey. Yet they just kept trying to force it.

Now they are really screwed and in danger of the Islanders moving out forever. It's already bad enough that the Islanders are not on Long Island anymore, but to move them somewhere else? No thanks.

Supposedly there is the possibility of expanding the Barn to get it to an NHL level.

As much as I hate the Islanders, they should not be the team to leave town. If anyone has to go, it's the team across the river in Jersey.

I went to a game there last year in Brooklyn. It was an awful experience.

On the Wild broadcast last night, Michael Russo seemed to think the most likely thing to happen would be moving back to the Nassau Coliseum, which has been renovated since the move. That would be awesome actually.

But the report that they were being 'evicted' wasn't exactly accurate either. They are in talks to renegotiate the lease, which is mandatory and both sides have opt-outs at various times. Nothing is final yet. The Isles would be dumb to stay there though.

I hope the Islanders move back to the Nassau Coliseum because I want to hear the announcers say "Welcome to the Nassau Veterans Coliseum presented by New York Community Bank".
