Ive played a lot of golf this year, but the past two weeks I have been getting forearm pain after hitting a few balls to start a round and then it just stays with me.

From my research, it is more than likely golfer's elbow. A friend of mine said it could be from hitting off the mat at the driving range (all of the ones here are mat only till spring now).

Has anyone dealt with this and, if so, what did you do to help it?
For me, it was grip strength and then forearm exercises/stretches (plus of course just some rest to reset things first). There's plenty of routines you can find, probably more even that are golf-specific, but this video was something I started with way back when.
I won't ask for Christmas or birthday gifts if you subscribe to the Operation Sports Newsletter (Not Just Another Roster Update). I write it, and it hits your inbox every Friday morning (for freeeeeee). We also have an official OS Discord you can now join.

Thanks! Ill definitely give the strength and exercises a try. I have been icing and resting it the past week. I found a couple exercises on YouTube and I think they are helping, but we will see.

        Re: The OS Golfer's Thread!

I've had quite some experience with this... tennis elbow then golfer's elbow in my right arm, then tennis elbow in my left arm, all over the course of 3 years. The YT therapy videos will certainly help, although you'll have to experiment to find ones that are effective.

The game changer for me was working with a Theraband therapy bar consistently. You basically twist it against resistance like revving a motorcycle. Comes in varying resistance strengths but I ended up going with the strongest one. The pain/discomfort level in using it is high at first, but if you use it consistently (I kept mine at my desk at work as a "fidget tool") it offers relieve short term and a strengthening of the forearm muscles to avoid tendonitis recurrence long term.

Happy holidays to all the hackers here, real and/or virtual!

Here's to everyone being on the nice list...may Santa bring you a new set of irons, a driver, and a dozen Pro V1s.

And as a treat, I hope he leaves some info on new golf video game releases in the early part of the new year!

Not console golf news, but there was a pretty impressive looking Trackman teaser video just put out, showcasing their upcoming update...looks like Cabot Cliffs:

Supposed to be in upper 40's and low 50's this weekend. Unfortunately, we are still thawing out from 11 inches of snow and 1/2" of ice.
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

You think you're 2 weeks out from the links in Michigan? I admire your optimism!

Let us know how you like that Elyte driver. If you ever hit the Paradym, I'd be interested in whether you think there's a difference between the 2.

The start of my season is gonna be delayed. I suffered a dislocated patella, torn MPFL, and sprained MCL while at work.

Oh no! Really sorry to hear that.

Hope the rehab/recovery goes well and that you aren't on IR for the rest of the season!

There's courses in metro Detroit that are opening up this weekend. I need it to dry out a little bit before I'll go out.

I'll want to get some more data with it as the season goes along. But I've played Rogue ST, Paradym, AI Smoke, and now Elyte. I really like Rogue, Paradym I think I just never clicked with. My toe miss was not great with it at all. Smoke was fine. When I was being fit for Elyte, I had one shot that particularly stood out. I hit one off the toe where I thought it had to snap hard left, but it was like a 7-8 yard draw. I was honestly surprised by it. Early testing really likes Elyte. I'll see how she performs during the season.

Awesome. I have generally had a good feel with Callaway drivers - I currently have the 1st gen TaylorMade Stealth in the bag, and honestly...I don't love it. I may go back to Callaway, as I've always just liked the way they felt when I swing them.

If any of those old Callaways are burning a hole in your garage, I'll swing by when you're free!
