I've been using 2 rounds since I qualified for the PGA Tour. Every tourney is 2 rounds (including the Masters).

Thanks Smiley. Oh well at least with 2 rounds I'll get to see the obscure DLC courses faster/more often.

FYI I'm seeing this issue at the Pro level as well.

I was the second person in this thread to reply and I praised the putting.

However, I had not yet experienced the extreme 4th round pin placement. At the time I had seen some 4th rounds but the pin placements were ok. Then I got to the 4th round of another tournament (forget which course) and I swear the hole was on the side of a cliff. I just missed the hole and the ball went all the way down a hill. I then putted up the hill, the ball got just about up to the cup, and then rolled down behind where I originally putted from. Having read the things in this thread and experienced that, I shut the game off and haven't touched it since.

I finally got to play the 4th round at CN in Season mode and I agree with you on some of the Expert pin placements in that round. Some of them were ridiculous and others just fine. That being said, I did manage to score a 57 in Tournament mode with ZERO restarts. It is not impossible to score well, but I can see how you feel the way you do.

You must have your golfer maxed out and using the Xbox. My CAG has power at 80, putting at 65 and accuracy at 40 and I use a PS3 where the DS controller is markedly more sensitive than the 360 controller. I refuse to raise my golfer stats any higher so to keep the challenge and I can usually average 68-70 on most courses except the carnival expert pins on certain courses. If you can score a 57 on that course in the 4th round with my CAG on the PS3 then I'll be impressed.

My golfer is NOT maxed out. Average about 80% except for Control which is less than 50%.

Won't be playing on the PS3 with the DS3 as I sold mine and got another 360 when the Move functionality with TW12 was nowhere near what I was hoping for and I freaking hate the DS3 with TW games. After what went on with the PSN, I am glad I got rid of it.

Does anybody have any Move putting tips? It's been the toughest part to do consistently for me.

EDIT: Move.....I thought you said MORE...lol

Sometimes on a critical putt I will physically hold the controller out in front of me to give myself a better chance of hitting it straight. Sometimes I even take a few practice swings.

It is easy to shank a putt in 12 but think about it......if you were actually on a green shooting putts in the cup from random spots, you aren't going to make every one of them. Sometimes you need lady luck on your side in this game just like in real golf!

I choke on a lot of eagle opportunities, but in all fairness, I'm sure I would do the same thing out on the real course....lol

                        I love this game!

I think the real problem is not the location of the holes but the unrealisticly quick greens. If they just slowed the pace of the greens a tad so the ball wouldn't actually roll backwards, the problem would be solved.

The locations are the real problem but yeah you're right to a point that if they slowed down the greens so they didn't roll back down then it would make alot of the carnival holes more manageble. But they would have to make it slow greens because even on medium greens you still get alot of rollback.

I have rolled back my season to 3 rounds and found a somewhat happy medium. You still get crazy holes but they are much abundant on expert than hard. Two rounds I find too short and 4 too long for career so 3 is perfect for me without the crazy pins ruining the game because I have given up on hoping for a patch to fix this. It ain't happening.

Even in real golf I find 4 rounds too much. I think the 2nd round is not really necessary because if you have 3 rounds then you get the 1st round and then moving day with the 2nd round and then the final round. It would make every round much more tense where you start Friday and finish Sunday so guys get more time to travel from tourney to tourney and would probably end up having the marquee golfers playing more tourneys and I bet ratings would be better.

I disagree with your reasoning. The number of rounds is not why the big name golfers skip tournaments. When a Phil, Tiger, European star, or any other bigger named golfer skips an event it is due to money and upcoming events. Some events on the PGA don't offer as much of a payout as others do. The bigger named golfers want to play for the most money at each event. The money list is a factor for qualifying for majors. Golfers that have won a event or two does not feel the need to play every event since they have already qualified for the majors in a season. Then you have guys like Tiger and Phil who play a set number of events each year anyway so the number of rounds are not a factor. Most golfers on tour have to play each week to make their living but the bigger named guys make enough on the number of events they play in that they don't feel the need to.

Then you also have to look at upcoming events. In the weeks leading up to a major it is better for a player who has qualified for the major to skip events. They are better suited preparing for the course the major will be played on. I know the old Tiger always did this and Phil started doing this after he won a major.

The number of rounds is not the issue with TV ratings for golf it's the sport itself. The golf season is way to long with a bunch of little events mixed in with the bigger ones. Kind of like the NBA and MLB the playoffs is all that matters and for golf the majors are all that matters. I'm a golf fan. I have been playing for 16 years. I played in high school and college. I enjoy watching golf as well but I don't feel the need to watch each event because they don't matter. for the guys on the PGA tour, golf is their job so to say shorting the rounds played by 1 would not make a difference at all.
Relax, it's just a video game!
