Well i don't think that on the course TW on the PC atleast is a good game.

Off the course with feature and everything I think it's quite poor. EA Sports loves to makes games where the gameplay isn't addicting it's trying to unlock new clothes, modes and frills. I hate this about sports games. Just like every other EA Sports games, the way they make you keep playing it is forcing you to keep unlocking stuff jsut to get to a realistic experience.

What if in Madden, the only way you could play a career mode is to start of with a team of nobodies replacing your favorite team, then you had to keep playing to unlock stuff just to make that team competative. To me that's not how sports games should work. But for the reaction on this board and other boards, it's fine with most of you.

    <hr /></blockquote><font class="post">

I think you can play tournaments where you play as pro players, but I like the aspect where I start out kinda like in real life, where I'd have to work on my skills to get better. Unlocking stuff doesn't do anything for me overall, but it's a fun game. If you were uber Tiger from the start I think the game would get old fast. Then it'd just be trying to get a hole in one on a par 4 and stuff like that

    <hr /></blockquote><font class="post">

If you don't want the challenge of starting with a created player there are plenty of pre set pros you can use with higher attributes. As far as unlocking stuff it's not exact required that you spend money on clothes and goodies and you can just spend it all on those attributes if you wihs. I think the majority find the pro shop to be a welcome addition to the game.

Jrod you know I have asked you this before. Do you ever have fun when playing games, or do you spend the whole time simply trying to find things that are wrong with the games? You just seem like a very angry person. Angry at games, your local SW Etc, EA Sports. Maybe you should take up a different hobby?

    <hr /></blockquote><font class="post">

Not the point BD, I mean let's face it, if you can't admit that EA Sports forces you to play it's game but adding extras instead of addictive gameplay than you have no clue about gaming.

A better method to implement isn't forcing experienced gamers and for that matter experienced golf gamers to have to learn how to hit sand shots. Give us a little more credit than that. Not only that but I did the same thing last year. Bascially I had to learn how to golf on the computer. That's good for some but there should be options in games to have us start off at a more experienced point. Second and this is my beef with golf games.

Real golf works the opposite of the way Tiger Woods works. And yes this is partly to make first time games find the game easy in order to keep them playing. But On the early levels you can almost hit anything straight but the ball doesn't go any reasonable distance.

Like I said for NASCAR Thunder, instead of forcing us to be horrible when we first start the game. Let us be decent in the lower ranks of the sports. In this case, let us start out at our difficulty level.

Now BD this is what bothers me, when did I say I hated this game. Did I ever say I hated TW. Or did I say what bothered we and how it could be corrected. That's constructive criticism. Maybe we should all just shut up and say it's great, i love it and nothing needs changing as so many do.

Addictive gameplay would be subject to the user playing the game.

Continuing to prove my point with another "I am right and everyone who does not agree with me has no clue about gaming". Are you saying that all these people who enjoy the gameplay of NCAA 2004 Madden 2004, MVP Baseball, TW 2004, Live 2003 and the others games have no clue? Could it possibly be that some people have the ability to rationalize the difference between a video game and what we see on TV?

Was EA forcing people to vote NCAA 2003 the game of the year (staff and users) and also the best sports game of all time here at OS? Did NCAA &amp; Madden force me to play at a certain level? Were options/sliders not available for me to use? Tiger Woods 2004 offers these same options.

Hopefully you will one day find the options button and turn on wind and remove the other aids. I can't force you to but they are there to change all those straight shots. Oh and in the advanced tutorial they show you how to hit a fade and a draw so if you want to be Mr Expert quit hitting straight shots and make your golfer play like a pro with a fade or draw on each shot.

Also Tiger Woods would be true to REAL GOLF as it starts you with someone with lower attributes who can not hit the ball as far. I know when I first started golfing I was not able to launch 300 yard drives.

Re: Not Impressed with TW at all

I stuck with the game and have played quite a bit over the last couple of days. I have to admit that I like it better and will continue to play. I have gotten used to the putting so that helps. However,I still like the feel of Hot Shots better.

You dont really get a good view of the course. You get the fly by and thats it. In HS i liked how you could put the cursor where you wanted to hit the ball then be able to see your view to the green. Unless i am missing something you cant do this in tiger. it makes it seem less like i am playing the course and just swinging the club. By looking at the green you cant really tell where the slopes are without the grid. With the grid it only shows about a 3 feet radius around where you are pointing. I want to be able to get a better feel for where i need to hit the ball.

Again, I like the game a lot better now. Its more fun with a created player with low ability. Only problem is when you start adding more ability the game will become too easy.

I guess now i just wished you were better able to view the course.

I agree 100% with everything you have said. I am also not adding ability to my player so the game will remain challenging.

You dont really get a good view of the course. You get the fly by and thats it. In HS i liked how you could put the cursor where you wanted to hit the ball then be able to see your view to the green. I am probably missing something here because it has been a long time since I played HSG3

I dont know which version you have (PS2 or Xbox) but on the Xbox if you press "a" it will switch between a few different golfer views. Then if you want to view the landing point (fairway or green depending on where you are at) you hold "b" down. Keep in mind this does a fly over to the ball. Once you get there and wait one second the grids, wind and all other items pop up and of course you can adjust where you want the ball to land with the directional pad. I am guessing you probably already know this and mean you want to see the green from the landing point.

The grid may be small but by simply moving it around on the green you can easily see where the break lines are. Or if you are seeking a real challenge, like the pros do you don't have grids and you have to learn the breaks of the greens and where to place the iron shots.

Also with the money you do not have to spend it on attributes, simply keep unlocking stuff in the pro shop or just let the money keep increasing. The only attribute I am increasing is the power to get it to where he averages around 280 w/o having to use the boost.

i have the ps2 version and it is pretty much the same. you can select different golfer views and then do a fly by to your cursor spot. what you cant do, like in hot shots, is then take a view from your cursor spot to the green. this would help show you where any obstructions are. I like to know if i need to drive the ball left or right of center to avoid being in a treeline.

Again, its just a feeling thing i guess. I dont feel like i am playing the course. i want to see the course from multiple angles.

I wish the grid covered the entire green and not just a small area. Without the grid you cant read the green because everthing looks flat from the only view you get.

Im guessing you have played Hot Shots 3 before havent you bdoughty? If so you know what i mean about the different camera angles.
