Re: Not Impressed with TW at all

i have the ps2 version and it is pretty much the same. you can select different golfer views and then do a fly by to your cursor spot. what you cant do, like in hot shots, is then take a view from your cursor spot to the green. this would help show you where any obstructions are. I like to know if i need to drive the ball left or right of center to avoid being in a treeline.

Again, its just a feeling thing i guess. I dont feel like i am playing the course. i want to see the course from multiple angles.

I wish the grid covered the entire green and not just a small area. Without the grid you cant read the green because everthing looks flat from the only view you get.

Im guessing you have played Hot Shots 3 before havent you bdoughty? If so you know what i mean about the different camera angles.

Sure I have played it but it was a long time ago. I am still waiting for some HSG 4 or HS Online information. This is the only game that has me intrested in taking my PS2 online.

I don't know why anyone would want to remove the grids for putting, yeah if the graphics were better and you could actually see the way the green slopes then I would have no problems removing the grids, but I didn't realize that putting was supposed to be a guess which direction type of game, even pro pga tour players know where the greens slope to.

Well it would be for the challenge. People keep complaining about wanting a challenge, yet they want bigger grids? There are no grids in the real game and that is why you see them "reading the greens". They also learn the greens, slopes by playing the course numerous times.

Gaphics better? Are you playing the GBA verion? If you use the zoom camera I can assure you that you will notice the breaks/slopes of the green. I did this most of the time in last years game. Plus if you listen to Mr Feherty he will tend to give you some advice on which way it is breaking.

Again this is only for those who want

A: A challenge. I am talking about having to work to shoot under par.
B: A way to make it more of a sim.

Good points BD! I was playing last night without the putting grid or caddy, and putting is really tough when you have to read it yourself, especially on the sloped green. This game, if played with the proper settings, is not as easy as everyone makes it out to be. I haven't stopped playing it. Hockey and Football are going to be on the shelf for a while.

i see what you are saying about turning off the grids but it only makes it more difficult because you cant read the green not because it makes it more of a sim. i have had several putts where it was impossible to tell if i was putting up hill or down hill.

so when you turn off the grid you are not really reading the green. you are making a guess because the graphics dont show slopes very well if at all.
