Re: Links - how are you doing?

Jrod, you make me laugh. I don't think I've ever seen you just say that you enjoyed a game. You've always got to slam it for not being realistic enough for you, or for being too easy. I wish you would realize that no game in history has ever been perfect and no game ever will be. Why do you keep buying or renting video golf games anyway? Why not just buy yourself one of those electronic driving screens where the result depends on the swing of an actual golf club. That's the only way you're going to get the realism you desire. I've already hit about 3 or 4 out of bounds because, to my surprise, the analog is actually more sensitive than I thought they could make it. If you're expecting any video golf game to mimic real life, you're going to be waiting a long time. Please don't get me wrong here. I respect the opinions that you bring to the table. I just wish you would quit expecting perfection. I think it would help you enjoy the experience a lot more.

By the way, do the pros in the game already have skills that are raised? If so, why don't you use a created player? I know you said you don't like to have to start out low to get a challenge, but as you've seen, they haven't made any golf games that don't have that facet.

well casey on DSP, I posted it was a good game...same with Top Spin. Just not here.

I think that would say I liked it.

Back to links, I just hit 9 fairways and 9 greens in a tournament on pro. Granted, it's pro and not overly hard and all the pins were center cut.

Putting a chipping is good and not hard to be decent but hard to be good. Just like real golf. But the driving and irons is like tiger just without the cannon distances. Wish there was a slider or something for sensitivity.

Plus my comparision is with Tiger PC. Okay it can't be too much of a sim. But I still think if the gamers wishes to have the game harder than the default presets than that's his choice. Also the driving and iron shots seem out of place with the putting and chipping. Putting and chipping is really fair. But there's too much of a good thing in the long game. Sometimes you just need to get punished for trying to hit a 300 yard drive.

Oh and one of the things that MS got right was with all your attributes on zero, you still hit the ball a decent distance. That's a big plus for the fun factor. To me atleast it's not all that fun knowing that you have to buy 50 character points just to hit the ball 275. Or make a 5-iron go 200.

i miss fairways and greens constantly.....now, granted, you may just be much much better than me, but i find this game to be in a whole different ballpark than TW....by that i mean better, in all facets except bells and whistles....oops, my bad, TW has like a million more courses, but XBL may fix that one too
