New downloadable content for Links, with a $5 charge

I say boycott getting this course if you have to pay. If you pay other companys will take note, and make you pay for their stuff too. If Links wants us to continue to buy their games then, they need to keep us enticed by offering free downloads

Just to let you know pay $5 and you get Kapula Plantation in the next 48 hrs

But don't do it, do set a trend, it's not worth it

Hmm...I like Kapalua, I'll pay it. We shouldn't have to, but I'm a sucker for this game.

Daryl also said that they plan on next year's version competing with TW as far as how many courses are available. The guy has been nothing but honest, you can't knock him for that. He said the course would be available in January, and it will be in the next 48 hours. He's also saying they plan on releasing DLC every 2-3 months. I don't think MS anticipated this game being as popular as it is. He said it's not in their budget to offer these new courses for free. I don't think it's right but I understand where he's coming from.

Also, Kapalua is only available for download on Live. You won't see it as a file on the internet somewhere, or on some XBOX demo disc. So, basically, if we want the course we have no choice.

Kapalua is a beautiful course. The elevation changes on this course don't even compare to what you have seen on the courses available now. It is challenging and I know I'm going to enjoy it.

your missing the whole point... your allowing other companies to see that you will pay for downloadable content. I don't want to have to pay for additional content in other games, let alone this one. Never did Microsoft say that Links downloadable content had to be paid for, when the game came out. As a matter of fact, they just mentioned it, conveniently. But he has the laid the bait, as so far, it looks like people are biting.

I am still unsure if I am going to purchase or not. I will say this, when a game says it is enabled for DLC, all that means is the option is available. Meaning that code is in place to accept downloads via XBL. It doesn't say free or premium just that the option is available. I understand the cost associated with this more then other games as there is a license fee that Microsoft must get to use the course, opposed to just the design cost associated with every other type of DLC.

Personally I think charging for it is fair, although I'd like to see something a bit less expensive. I think 2 courses for $5 would be fine. Unless they're including more depth to the career mode with the download. I know I'll end up getting it sooner or later, but I think I'm gonna go with Clay's suggestion and boycott it until they get their XSN problems fixed.
