It's $5. Less than one pizza. Less than the price of a movie at the cinema. About the same as a six-pack of decent beer. And I think you'll get a hell of a lot more mileage out of Kapalua than any of the above.

Sure, you can counter "it's the principle." And I agree, somewhat.

But you can't lump all downloads together. If MS starts charging for roster updates, then yeah, I'll be steamed. But it takes a lot of manpower and time to build an entire 18-hole real course for Links for the console.

Again, I don't think all downloads are the same. This isn't a couple of extra cars for Project Gotham. It's not one fictitious map for MechAssault or Splinter Cell that doesn't require a painstaking attention to realism as a real-life golf course.

I downloaded and played Kapalua, and it's worth the $5. It's a fun course.

yeah you can't even compare. you don't HAVE to have this course. you obviously want it if you're making a fuss in this thread but you don't have to have it to get the most out of the game. now i don't think downloadable rosters are must haves either but they are a very big part in bringing realism to a sports game. this is very different. again if you don't want to pay the $5 don't. when a game tries to charge for something i don't think is worth my money, i won't pay for it. it's that simple. i don't feel this is the case with this one.

no crap, no way would I pay for a roster update. Heck the ones we have for ID are already pretty out of date!

I wouldn't pay for roster updates, but I doubt we'll ever be charged for those. I think the premium content will be better, like what Mechassault did. A Links course is a lot of time and effort to work on, though I'd rather have had 2 or 3 courses for that price. Roster updates don't require as much from the developer or MS

Yeah, and from the quality of the rosters we have seen released since the birth of the roster update, I'd say that the developers don't spend a heck of a lot of time working on them either, whether they have the resources or not.
