Also I don't know if this has been brought up or not but we should have a point system for the four round events kind of like the Fed-Ex Cup just so the four round event can stand on it's own.

Had to go dig this up...

Would anyone be interested in having some sort of rankings for our weekly four round tournaments? I think it might add a bit of fun to it. I figure the top 10 finishers could get points and we'd update the standings at the end of each week. We'd just have to come up with a decent point system to make it work.

I wanted to throw my putter last night. Had a -3 turn into a +2 in the last three holes. Has anyone boosted their putting stats as high as current experience allows? If so did it help?

Mine is set to upper 60's and i'm a lvl 86 golfer right now. I did upgrade my putter to a 92 overall rating. It's a Nike Mallet Prototype.

Lol, I love all these posts like mine about struggling on some days, or starting strong and finishing poorly.

The bugs aside, which I believe will be ironed out....the devs get a big from me for this version of Tiger, the best golf game I've played.

The mere fact we're posting about poor play on our part and not poor gameplay on EA's part speaks volumes to this year's version of The Most Difficult Game on the Planet.

I couldn't agree more. I've had the game for over a week and probably played 50 rounds so far and i literally have less than 10 rounds under par during that period. Normally after 50 rounds i've won 7 to 10 tournaments and am shooting at least 12 under par each round.

This game is a major step forward and once EA gets all the annoying bugs fixed, this game is going to be near perfection.

The stiffer the shaft you use, the faster your downswing has to be furthering your chances for a mis-hit.

Are you saying this in a general golf knowledge way or is this how it is handled in game? I wish they did a better job explain the effect of some equipment in the game. I've been using the extra stiff shaft with my CAG because it said it adds +3 power (my control golfer needs all the help he can get in the power department). Are you saying that it also reduces accuracy in the game because my swing speed almost always says slow? If so I may have to switch back to regular.

I played around with switching to a power swing but started but, I started spraying it everywhere so I quickly went back to a control swing.

Was over on the EA forums and someone made mention about blindly hitting tee shots on Sim Mode with no yardage info for distances to the fairway or hazards since you can't zoom and a poster mentioned yardage books which is offered as an app "Swing by Swing" which I use myself in real life at the course. Gonna give it a try in my Career mode tonight

Can you make a "red" followtrough with diagonal swing with any kind of shaft? I can swing too hard when putting, chipping or pitching but never when driving. I even tried with regular shaft, couldn't do it.

I am wondering about this as well. I spent about 20 minutes on the practice range when i was at home for lunch earlier and i was never able to get a perfect or fast follow through. Maybe i just don't know what i'm doing.....

Try flicking the analog stick quickly on the downswing. It is doable and a must with wedge shots.....

Is the only way to get the ball to stop sooner on mid irons to ramp up on spin attribute or hit the ball higher?

Hit the ball lower to get it to stop. Higher produces top spin which will make the ball roll.

Correct, lower right side of your screen. Low for backspin to slow your roll (lol), or high to 'top' it and make it roll forward when it lands.

Also good usually to hit a little low when hitting out of thick rough.

You mean flick stick down quickly on backswing? Golf terms and golfgame terms are confusing me...
