Best round of the year for me in the Daily. Shot a -7.

Had a -8 coming on to 17, but pushed my drive right. Had some trouble getting to the green, and shot my only bogey of the day.

So amped right now.

Just finished playing the new daily. Shot a -2. Bogey'd most of the par 3's. The wind was playing tricks with my mind the whole round haha.

I really love this game.

Then I start catching the iron leaves covered in leather during the dailies, then I give up, just rush through the round because no matter what I do with the 3/4 shot, trying to hit the top of the ball, whatever I wind up making a triple that I had no business making because of the stupid "leaves".

How can they make such a great game and have one feature year after year that ruins so many rounds for me?? Why?...Why?

Well you just cannot hit any high shots when you're trying to avoid the trees. Take a 5-iron or even a hybrid and put the ball back in your stance and try to hit a low punch type shot to get out of trouble.

Speaking of 3/4 swing I cannot figure out what exactly is this stroke in the game. I went to driving range and enabled the swing meter and toggled between shot types and only difference between full swing and 3/4 swing I noticed was that the aiming marker moved from 120 yards to 117 yards with my 60° wedge.

Argh completely tanked the weekly on the 72nd, sliced into the water 3 times, what a let down!! +10 finish I think, big disappointment.

Never mind, on to the next one!

When you are in the trees, try punching your shot out to the fairway and take your medicine right then and there and move on trying to save par or bogey. There is a punch shot available and the idea is to get it out of there and away from trees and hopefully rough. You cannot hit out of trees unless the path in front of you is completely free of trees and you aren't under any trees as the overhanging branches could catch a high trajectory shot.

I've now missed the last two days being busy with getting all this crap done for my torn ACL in prep for surgery. It sucks...

It's hard enough not being to go out to the real course and play a round, I at least need my fix on TW. Should be able to get back on tonight after work... hopefully can get back in a rhythm. I struggled the last two or three tournaments.

Putting tip

Pay attention to green speed when you start your round or arrive to the first green. The control method in in TW14 is quite simple. The perfect-perfect stroke sends your ball exactly the distance where you have your aiming marker set on perfectly flat green, no matter what the green's speed is.

So when you have a 30ft putt on slow green the ball travels much faster than a 30ft putt on tournament green when aimed at same spot and stroke is hit with perfect-perfect swing. Now whenever there's break in that same putt the break on tournament green is tremendously bigger than on slow green because ball travels slower and reacts to break more on tournament green.

Also there is bigger risk of putting too hard on faster green and bigger risk of leaving the putt short on slow green. So when you are putting on slow green add 2 feet to putt's distance and on fast/tournament green add only one foot.

Getting better! +2 in the daily. With a triple bogey. The hazard drops MUST be fixed. It's just crazy. On the bright side, I scrambled like crazy to make a few pars on the back. It was a ton of fun. Giving everything a little more break than I see, and it worked out awesome.

And shot under par at Augusta and AAC in practice rounds. It's starting to all click.

The Hazard Drops and OB lines being moved in have really hurt my overall enjoyment of the game on Sim Settings.

I don't necessarily hit a lot of bad shots, but when i do, i shouldn't be penalzied with a bad drop or a ball that is ruled OB, but is not even close to an OB Stake.

Case in point, i was playing the first hole of the Honda Classic last night and pulled my ball left off the tee. Left of the tee box are trees and water. The ball landed in the trees and didn't even make it to the water, yet i was ruled Out of Bounds. WTF is that about. The penalty to the left of the tee box are the trees and the water. At worst i should have a lateral drop and be punching out from the trees. Yet, i was ruled OB and had to re-tee.

Utter BS. This is my first real complaint about this years game.

I played some good virtual golf last night. I finished -5 or-6 in the daily, I think. Then I played my final 2 rounds of the weekly. I shot -9 in the 3rd round and -7 in the last round. That made me -17 for the tourney. Not too bad considering I shot a +3 in the 2nd round.

I also hate the way the trees are done. I was playing at Sheshan(sp?) in my Career and I hit under a pine/evergreen tree near the green. I couldn't punch out, I couldn't hit a full shot, I couldn't do anything. It took me 5 shots to get it out from under the tree. I was trying to "take my medicene" and the game just wouldn't let me. There are definitely drops that need to be fixed as well.

Oh yeah, I almost had a birdie during the weekly tournament AFTER I hit it in the water. My tee shot went in the water and it gave me a drop on the bank. So my third shot ends up hitting the pin and bouncing to the side and I made the putt to save par. Just thought I would share.

Level 99, just one to go... I just wish unlocking new equipment would be done differently than just leveling up. Like achievements in career mode or certain scores/stats on different difficulty levels...
