I wish I was able to attend the whole week. The pass is $155 for the week. They don't offer 1-day passes so unless I get lucky I'll get stuck paying $155.

What if we had a "HANDICAP" tournament during the week. What I mean is we (BigHoff) would figure out who has the lowest scoring average. They would not get any strokes during that tourney. Then everyone's handicap would be based off that. (I guess you could do it relative to par as well, for example if Kodiak's avg score was -9 , he would have to give up 9 strokes in the handicap tourney. Everyone's score would be adjusted based on their handicap, just like in real golf. Everyone is playing the same courses, so there is no need to take into account slope and the other real life handicap variables.

I know this may be a lot of work (maybe more work than anyone wants to do) but if enough people were interested I'd be willing to help out Hoff figure out people's "handicaps". I just thought this might be a good way to keep people interested. Especially those that are not usually at the top of the leaderboard. Hoff could even keep which daily was the handicap tourney secret if he wanted.

This was just an idea. I'm having a lot of fun in the Country Club, but I know some guys get discouraged when they log on and see someone at -11 or -12 and know they can't beat that from the jump. This would give them a chance to win a daily.

Again I hate playing in the wind but maybe once or twice a week might mix it up. Maybe these guys are just that damn good. Lol

Whatever we come up with or if we keep things the same I'm good. I will say playing in my Career mode with the varying conditions I get all kinds of scores.

The whole handicap thing has always bewildered me LOL. I have zero understanding of how it works. I'm sure I'd somehow benefit from a handicap IRL, but honestly I prefer just straight scoring IRL and gaming.

I know I'm a cut below our top 'Tigers' like kodiak, sooner, Baby, etc. But that's alright. Like I said before, I compete against the course, I compete against myself, and I measure myself against guys in the CC that are of similar ability.

I always try to get better, but I also am not discouraged by the top scores. I would be bothered if that gulf were more ridiculous, though. But I don't think it is.

I placed first two events in a row in my Career mode, then went on to flounder so bad in Round 1 of the next that I couldn't make it up in Rd 2 sufficiently to make the cut, so I missed it lol.

I really enjoy playing without wind, but I wouldn't mind an occasional round with a breeze. I just dislike much over 10mph. 15mph+ is just a mess, especially with the fade/draw stuff we have to use.

Sky, when are you usually playing? Would love to start some H2H matches with a few folks.

Usually can play most Sunday-Tuesday nights with some Sat nights mixed in.
In about 4 weeks I head back to days and should have more opportunities.

This is why I place the honor system on myself, and cap out at 70 on all points. The game is way too easy. Raise that accuracy and power on the points, and bam - forget worrying about your swing; it's practically automatic - no matter what unless you're intentionally screwing up. That's why I thought my post from a couple pages was going to be more well received to the sim crowd - yet I guess I'm the only one who plays that way

That's fine in my SP game but with also loving the "off time" playing CC the constant changing back and forth would be tedious. I couldn't have my golfer play 1 way then a totally different way in CC.

I also wish EA would have a setting when creating CC to actually set limits on ratings etc. and a way to turn off pro's just to eliminate the possibility of someone using them.
Not specifically talking about this CC but any "honor system" these days is a slippery slope.

Great idea, man - I agree completely. That's okay though. I like the idea of a handicapped tour as well. It was like that for my PC tour (clambaker's) for TW08; most fun ever.

I'm not suggesting the whole tour be handicapped, but my idea was to have 1 or 2 a week. In theory that would make those tournaments "up for grabs" and would give anyone in the CC a chance to win. I'm also not saying we have to do this, it was just an idea I thought would at least be worth discussing. Once again, it's just a game and a points system that no one outside of this board is going to care about one bit. I just want to keep people participating. I've never played in an online golf league before and I'm have a lot of fun and the daily makes me pop in Ol Tiger every night to at least play 18 holes. Without the CC I'm sure I wouldn't be doing that. (Even though it's a great game)

I have a spreadsheet that I used to use all the time to track and calculate my handicap. We should be able to find the Slope and Course Ratings of the courses we play. If that is the case, I might be able to pretty easily modify my spreadsheet to use to track a USGA handicap for everyone.

Let me play around with the scores that are available for me to see tonight (basically last weeks weekly, and the last two daily's). We only have around 50 people playing, so it might not be that big of deal. The only thing I hate is that you lose the ability to see daily rounds after two days, so I might need someone to take some screen shots or write down scores when I am traveling. I will report back, and see if it is something I can realistically do.

courses outside of america are proving to be difficult to find a course and slope rating. For those courses, I will be using an average of all courses I have such ratings for. I need to figure out which courses are in the games for facilities that have multiple courses. But everything is looking good so far. I'll have some straw person data to show everyone tonight. but, things are looking promising. It will get better and more accurate when I have closer to 20 scores for everyone.

If nothing else, it will be a good barometer of your game. So you can look at handicaps and think things like this:

Kodiac should beat me by 5 at this course.
My handicap has went down 4 shots in the past two weeks, i must be improving.
etc.

Thinking about posting updates once a week, corresponding with the Commish posting the FedEx results.
