Blew up for Triple Bogey on the Par 5 7th in today's daily. Somehow managed two water hazards on that hole alone. Threw one more water hazard in somewhere on the back for good measure. Took a Bogey on that hole. Pretty disappointed with those two holes. Otherwise, it was a solid effort.

I've played that 7th hole in real life and it is tough. It has a a split fairway I think and if you take the shorter route the landing area is small. Then you have an over 200 yard carry all over water for your 2nd shot. I took the safter route when I played it and I still ended up in the water just left of the green because of an unlucky bounce and a shaved bank, smh. I'm excited to play the daily today, especially after my debacle yesterday. Plus I absolutely love Valhalla since it's in the home state and I've played it.

That course yesterday was nuts, never seen so many bunkers at one time (did a meteor shower create the course). That was probably the toughest course that I've played in the game so far but, funny enough, I didn't hit one bunker. I just had a tough time reading the greens, ball would look like it was going in only to turn away a foot from the hole. Struggled to get my -3, but it was fun.

Yeah, try playing Whistling Straits with 9-15mph wind. Oy vey....

Yesterday was one of my best rounds on that course.

I almost cracked the top 5 for the daily. Was about to head to hole 15 with a -3, but I messed it up. The funny thing is 17 was really no problem for me. I screwed up a couple of par 5's which is really really sad. Dropped to even part for the tourney

In other news though, Im like week 5 in my offline career. First round I shot even. 2nd round I shot +3 and was 9 shots off the leader.. 4th round I came on strong and finished -5 which was good enough to tie for third.

However, Tiger decided sit that tourney out.

I just realized something. As much as I hate losing and seeing these low scores I still enjoy playing the game. I guess this is what it was liking for real golfers going up against Tiger in his prime.

Honesty, just play the course safe. The greens are a little rough, but nothing that can't be two putted consistently.

Mil, your score on Whistling Straits help me get thru the round. I totally stunk it up last night and posted a +5. Couldn't hit a fairway to save my life. Finished the front 9 at +4. I was like OK, I don't want to finish last, and I remembered your post about how the one hole just messed you up and you finished +6.

Got a par on 10 and then bogeyed 11, to put me at +5. I told Lord Hve Mercy, that my goal then was just to par everything from then on out, to stay ahead of Mil. For this one round, I don't want to finish last. For the rest of the round, I had some scary moments, but my putter didn't fail me when it came to saving par.

Funny, how you come into a round with one set of goals, and then the wheels fall off. Then, it's all about adjustment.

Saw some guys that I'm usually hanging with in scoring, shoot some better rounds then they have been. Congrats to them. It's all about improving and having fun. "Baby steps, Bob. Baby steps."

Man, you will get better, trust me. This is the first TW game I've played since 2001. Before I got the game, I was following the Bushwood thread and seeing how much fun these guys were having, along with the difficulty. Seeing the fun and the horror stories these guys were having, I went out a got the game. Do not regret the purchase. The CC has me looking forward to firing up the game every day and getting my daily done, and then the weekly.

Things were really brutal for me in the beginning, when my CAG was low level. Once I started getting some decent skill and levels, things got a whole lot better. This game will humble you from hole to hole... round to round.

Looking forward to playing the Daily tonight, when I get home and then getting my rounds in at Sawgrass. Love the CC.

NIIIIICEEE... I have the house to myself all weekend and it's raining here too in Chicago. I will be sleeping, eating hot wings, drinking beer, playing golf and some Black Ops II in between rounds. Yes I'm going to be a bum. Maybe not even shower or shave all weekend... and that's ok. I'm a man. This is what is expected of us when no one is watching lol.

Started the weekly this evening. Had a rough front in the first round. Only made one Birdie, but had a Bogey and a Double Bogey for +2 through 9 holes. It was at that point that I really focused on slowing down and making more precise swings. I was able to go -7 on the back and post a -5 for the first round. My swing stayed true through the second round, and I was able to post -14. I'm going to start the third round now, hopefully I don't fall prey to that pin position everyone has been talking about on 13. *fingers crossed*

Edit: Well, the good news first... Round 3 hole 13 went okay for me because my ball hit the hole for Birdie. It was nothing but luck. I was trying to putt to ~5 at the top of the hill (on the direct opposite side of the cup, away from the steep down slope) and putt from there for Par. Instead, it broke much more than I anticipated and most luckily dropped in the hole for Birdie. If it hadn't I likely would have made Bogey or worse.

After the stellar Round 2 -14, I was excited about having the opportunity to make a run at kodiak's -40 over four rounds, if I played quite solid. Needless to say, my third and fourth rounds didn't go as well as my second. I ended up leaving a lot putts and chips out there that I had made in Round 2. Kind of disappointed, but it could have been worse overall, so I'll count myself lucky.

I played Valhalla as well about 1 month before the PGA Championship back in 96 when I was 18 years old. I was decent at golf and shot 110. It was rough.

Would've had a nice finish in the daily, but I out e ball in the drink twice on hole #9, ended with a nice round 10. Still managed to shoot even par.
