Re: PGA Tour 2K21 Impressions Thread
I feel bad because I can’t tell? It feels smoother that’s for sure. Sorry

Oh, are you seeing the benefits of auto HDR in this game on the Series X?Duke Football? Hell yes it's Duke Football! --- Coach CutcliffeComment

Re: PGA Tour 2K21 Impressions Thread
Are you keeping your tempo between the 11 o-clock and 1 o-clock marks on the feedback meter with at least twice the regularity you were before playing it on the Series X? Secondly, are you finding that you're leaving 8 to 20 foot putts consistently short? Both of those are pretty good indicators that you're up around 60 FPS, based on my experience with the PC version and being able to make a direct comparison on the same screen within seconds of each other.

Graphically it’s not much of a difference to me. I’m not leaving putts shorter and my swing is a lot more consistent.
Gonna jump back on in a few to see if I see any more changes and pay a little more attention to what you mentioned above.

Re: PGA Tour 2K21 Impressions Thread
Not surprised to read this because it already looked really good on the One X. I found the lighting range of 2K21 to be more dynamic than any others in the series, so you may not see much in the way of a boost from auto HDR here.

I know you've had a long history with this game and you've played its various iterations enough to I'm pretty sure you'd be bowled over by playing this game at 60 FPS, versus the 30 to which you're acclimated. I take it you've never had the occasion to play TGC 2019 or 2K21 on a PC that can run it at 60 FPS? I'd love to read your reaction once you do. This is a roundabout way of saying based on the two Series X/2K21 reactions I've read so far, the game is still locked at 30 FPS, but there's less latency in the control inputs.Duke Football? Re: PGA Tour 2K21 Impressions Thread
Is anyone else noticing a glitch in this game heading into your second season of PGA Tour mode?
I have won the first two tournaments I played this season (even the announcers acknowledge this in game) and yet when I exit to the main screen it shows other golfers having the wins?
For the record I have won both of these tournaments by multiple strokes as wellLast edited by MattyPic22; 11-10-2020, 03:26 PM.Comment

Re: PGA Tour 2K21 Impressions Thread
Can you still play career mode if you don't have the online service? I have an internet connection but do not have an active membership to the Nintendo online service. I should be good, right? Anyone can chime in if you wish. ThanksComment

Re: PGA Tour 2K21 Impressions Thread
This game plays wayyyyyyyyy better on the Series X. I was playing on the original XB1 previously.
There is one backswing glitch that I've noticed and hope it gets fixed, but other than that, it's easily the most enjoyable and best golf game I've ever played.Comment

Re: PGA Tour 2K21 Impressions Thread
I think you'd be OK if you're connected to the internet but aren't on the console's online service. PGA 2K21 needs to pull the courses from the servers, so there's no actual online play component to career mode. And since the subscriptions services are about online play, you should be OK theoretically.Orbis Non SuficitComment

Re: PGA Tour 2K21 Impressions Thread
Everyone says it plays "smoother" on the Series X, which is good. I think the reason it feels smoother is because the controller input has less latency because it's getting processed faster. I was hoping we'd also get some relief from the draconian 30 FPS lock which is in force on this game and let us play it at 60 FPS, as the Series X is more than capable of doing, but it's very clear to me we didn't. You would be heralding this as a "new game" if they had... it's that radical in the performance improvement and visceral feel it adds to the game!Duke Football? Re: PGA Tour 2K21 Impressions Thread
The gameplay is really enjoyable, but makes the rest of the glitches stand out:
- The inaccurate tournament results are a real immersion killer. Same goes for how Justin Thomas completely dominates the field more often than not.
- No playoff to break first-place ties is just laziness. Come on.
- There should be the ability to play as real golfers in all modes.
- MyPlayer attributes shouldn’t be based solely on clubs. A development system is sorely lacking.
- Speaking of, how come players can’t choose which balls they use? Anybody who plays is just as picky about whether they use a Titleist or other brands.
- Gimme some ability to pick courses for generic tournaments. I’d love to substitute the TGC member Pebble Beach course for whatever is used during the “Northwest Open.” The option to rename generic tournaments would also be a blast.
- The rivalry challenge and contracts are lame, but whatever.
Look, the gameplay is strong but the game is too limited otherwise. Disappointing.Last edited by JoeRodgers1175; 11-12-2020, 02:25 PM.Comment

Re: PGA Tour 2K21 Impressions Thread
Hey yall. My pga 2k21 isn't launching on my Series X. At the pga 2k21 title, after pressing continue, it keeps sending me back to the xbox home page. Am I doing something wrong? All my other xbox games seems to be working after being installed. Thanks!Comment

Re: PGA Tour 2K21 Impressions Thread
FYI...it appears PGA 2K21 is cracking down on real course recreations in their game. They first removed Firethorn National (aka, a certain "masterful" replica of a famous course in the news this weekend), which was then republished by the same designer as A Course Has No Name. That course has now been removed, too. The same designer also had his St. Andrews recreations removed as well.
You can still play these courses if you've favorited them, but they are no longer searchable, and even the words "St. Andrews" have become censored.Last edited by MrArlingtonBeach; 11-12-2020, 10:23 PM.Orbis Non SuficitComment
