Storage won't be a problem I don't play that many games now anyhow. I imagine I could just do what I have been doing with the PS4 just delete the game and re download it when I want to play it again.

If you do run into trouble, I recommend getting a 2TB external drive, I got one last year for $90 and it’s worked perfectly! I had for many years struggled with only having 500GB on my PS4 and it’s worked wonders.
I believe mine is Seagate.

Tried to edit my last post. Kept getting error about character length when it wasn’t over the limit… but anyways, it was actually 4TB! Here’s the exact model from my purchase history…[IMG]

Re: PGA Tour 2K23 Releases on October 14, Three Click Swing Option Added - Videos, Sc
An observation I had tonight regarding all of the confusion about physical vs digital only dual entitlement stuff (and thanks Beach for finally clearing up that it appears that PS4 and PS5 players can play online together with the Standard version), is this:
It seems very odd and peculiar that the most expensive, all inclusive version of this game, the Tiger Woods Deluxe version or whatever it's called, is DIGITAL ONLY.
Isn't it safe to assume that anyone who buys that version for $120 bucks is obviously doing that because they are a massive Tiger fan, and the Red Sunday shirt, his clubs, his golf balls, and whatever else is included in it is worth it for them to buy that version?
If so, here's my question...if you're that guy that wants to buy that Tiger version, doesn't it stand to reason that out of ALL customers for this game, the physical version with the cover art matters more to them than anyone else?
I am trying to not be cynical about this, and hoping the only reason the Tiger version is digital only is because Tiger and his management requested that his version was digital only to help cut down on piracy.
Can anyone suggest *any* other reason that the most inclusive, flagship version of this game is not available in the physical disc form, especially when it's a "commemorative" item hyping the cover art, his first picture and endorsement of a golf video game in almost a decade?Comment

Therefore, the edition costs more for the consumer, but costs less for the company to produce...leading to more pure profit. They throw some digital items in there to make it seem like a good deal, but in the end, those items will probably be available to buy with in-game currency you earn by simply playing the game.
This seems to be a pattern with other sports games, too. MLB The Show 22's most expensive edition was the Digital Deluxe Edition, which was $99. It came with no box or disc.
Even the $85 MVP Edition of MLB 22 came in a steelbook with special cover art.
So yeah, unfortunately to me, it seems it's just a way for 2K to make more money off those diehard TW fans.Last edited by MrArlingtonBeach; 08-31-2022, 11:31 PM.Orbis Non SuficitComment

I'm torn right now about which package to buy. I'd be perfectly content with the XBox Series X Enhanced package ($69.99), as it offers everything I want, out of the box. I'm pondering getting the Deluxe version ($99.99) just so I can have the game three days earlier than the Standard XBox Series X Enhanced version. I can only imagine how torturous it's going to be sitting on the sidelines for those three days, while other Deluxe and Tiger Woods Deluxe players are raving about how the game is playing at a solid 60 FPS, and free of tempo anomalies on the Series X
The only other possible appeal in it for me is it might give me enough VC to be able to buy some or all of the clubs I'll eventually want to play with. I'm not a bling guy, and the stock attire is usually enough to meet my modest desires. You'd have to pay me play with gold clubs, or hockey sticks, but if it helps sell games, I'm all for it!Duke Football? Hell yes it's Duke Football! --- Coach CutcliffeComment

Just got confirmation today via a Twitch stream of "KillahBeaz132" that there will be a performance mode option in 2K23, at least for the XBox version. He didn't go into any detail about how the performance mode is achieved, but he did say he could feel a difference in it. I think the possibilities are as follows:
1.) 2160p @ 60 FPS+ with certain graphics details being disabled
2.) 1080p @ 120 FPS
3.) 1080p @ 60 FPS+ and Variable Refresh Rate enabled, allowing the game to seek its own framerate, higher than 60 FPS
4.) 1080p @ a solidly locked 60 FPS
I'm hoping for number 2, but I'd be more willing to bet it will be number 4.Duke Football? Hell yes it's Duke Football! --- Coach CutcliffeComment

I imagine it would still have a performance option on the S, but the resolutions and frame rates would likely vary just a bit. Good question about the trees. I would hope porting 2K21 courses would have a provision for updating them.Duke Football? Hell yes it's Duke Football! --- Coach CutcliffeComment

actually there's a lot to talk about here. swing method is different, golfers look better, courses look like the ground is more natural and less flat like 2K21. Overall just looks better.

I picked this exact point in the trailer as the highlight graphically. The golfer animation & angles through the swing look really good but overall the reason it looks better is because it’s in shadow. I play 2K21 on a high end OLED & it looks terrible at standard brightness but a hack to make the game look better is to drop that brightness to a low level. It removes the over saturated look & lighting & brings a more natural look to the game. (Except the bunkers they still look bad)Comment

Re: PGA Tour 2K23 Releases on October 14, Three Click Swing Option Added - Videos, Sc
HB Studios added the option to change the game's vsync to 60Hz, thus allowing the game the opportunity to run the game at 60 FPS in 2K21. I don't think they built 2K21 with next-gen considerations as high as they now have with a game that was developed with nearly two years of seat time with the next-gen. We've now learned from one of the NextMakers that at least the XBox version of the game will offer a "Performance" mode option. Honestly, that's more of a consideration than I thought we'd get from HB Studios, even though I don't know how the performance mode is achieved.
Would they go with a 120 FPS option at 1080p? Probably not; that's asking a bit much from this game engine. The fact that they put the "60 FPS+" specification in the "Technical Capabilities" for the game suggests to me that they might be enabling VRR on the Series X/S to put the "+" on the end of that spec.
Whatever they can do to get a more proportionally responsive swing out of this game, the better, IMO. The aspect of 2K21 that keeps me playing it is the occasional euphoric feel I get out of the tempo dependent interface, even though the tempo affects hook and slice, rather than pull/push. The swing path should be the chief determinant of hook/slice in my book, but I digress. The fact remains that there's still a rewarding visceral sensation I get when I nail the tempo, hear that distinctively subdued impact sound, and get that dampened vibration from the controller at impact, that gives me a rewarding sense of having hit the sweet spot.Duke Football? The immediate thing that's noticeable for me when I saw the trailer and this screenshot is that the trees and lighting look a lot better than the ones in 2K21.
I know the trees will affect porting courses from 2K21 to 2K23, but honestly, I am willing to deal with that to have environmental objects that look much better. Many of the trees in PGA 2K21 did not look great. Willows were an abomination.Last edited by MrArlingtonBeach; 09-02-2022, 01:04 PM.Orbis Non SuficitComment
