Same -- especially on the graphics though

I'm just so beyond ready for a truly next generation, breathtakingly beautiful, golf game experience.

It's a sport that is as beautiful as it gets when you're out there and it'd be amazing to finally get a game where the graphics are catching your eye constantly -- just for the beauty

The gameplay needs to be there - don't get me wrong - but at this point (for me), the graphics really need to be there also. I'm tired of compromising in that department for "reasons."

For anyone interested, I just got an email from Sony saying they have new stock of PS5s at direct.playstation.com I get emails from them because I already have a PS5 and the + account to play online with my friend. Just thought I'd pass it along.

I've about given up on this game. The tempo the last few days is just not right. I either get perfect, black slow, or black fast on what all feel like the same input from me. Slightly slow or slightly fast are completely gone. I've changed controllers, made sure bluetooth was turned off, and calibrated several times but nothing works.

Game has so many little issues that I could live with but this is just ridiculous and just makes the game unplayable especially if you're trying to do any of the TGTC stuff where you have use tempo. And this comes right after I finished in the top 25 in my flight in the last event and was beginning to play really well. I don't know what changed since Friday, whether it's just in my head or something in the game IDK. Frustrating!!

Tried no go unavailable. I am on a few lists to email when they are in stock never got a thing back. I don't see this opening up soon really and I have no intention of staying online to get one.

I hear your frustration maybe try 3 click. Saved the game for me since I can't even swing the club on the practice range. Silly really.

Fired up the game just now, and noticed there's a new, holiday-themed official 2K course, "Blue Ridge Trail".

I tried playing the Series X version with the tempo OFF. It eliminated a lot of the frustration I have with the inconsistent tempo performance that seems to be linked to the server, but it sort of made the game feel like it was on rails. I did bump the overall difficulty up to "Master" to offset the lack of tempo impact, but it still felt too forgiving. Maybe I should try it on legend difficulty with the tempo off?

I think if they could just offer up a graphics setting that really does allow for a solid 60 FPS to be maintained, it would take care of most of the problems we're having on the XBox. I know the swing tempo feels a lot more manageable on the PC version, where I've got the graphics res set back to 1080p, and the frame rate counter shows a solid 60 FPS. It's not as pretty graphically, but the more fluid swing offsets that IMO.

If I set my PC to run at 4K and match the look of the XBox Series X version, my frame rate hangs around 26 to 28 FPS... it's unplayable at that frame rate. If I have rumble enabled, to start getting feedback bumps 20% of the way into the backswing because the swing animation is lagging so bad.

I havent had any issues with tempo since the patch. One thing that does help on PC is to take your club halfway back and stop. Then start over and take your full swing. It gets the stutters out before your real swing. I notice it more on shots where there are a lot of trees and shadows in the image. Maybe its to much to process for the server

Re: PGA TOUR 2K23 Impressions Thread

Thought I'd share my two cents after having put in several rounds with the game.

Overall the game is solid. There really isn't anything revolutionary about it and it doesn't really progress the golf simulation genre past the point of where it is now, but it doesn't do anything to worsen it either.

On the course the game provides a very sound simulation and for me that is the most important thing. The replay ability of the actual game itself on the course is extremely high and with the ability to play a host of created courses it will continue to provide an enjoyable experience even if during its lifetime it becomes nothing more than a time killer versus that of a game that is completely engrossing.

Off the course, the game is serviceable. Career mode while functional becomes stale and boring over time. Topgolf is fun for what it is, but its never, and was never, going to be the reason why I decide to pop the game into the system and play. The enjoyable experience on the course is the only reason that I continue to "grind" through the career mode.

Like I said the game is solid and that is 98% because of how well it plays on the course. And while others may not be intrigued by the silly apparel and equipment, for me its just fun and its something that brings my son to play the game as well.

Its not the overall package that I was looking for in a golf game, but it does enough to satisfy my golf fix during the cold months when I can't play in real life.
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

I also saw that they released this info about the number of holes played so far, as well as the top courses played, on their social media pages:
