I don’t regret this purchase, but the only thing that’s killing the game right now is its own engine. Hopefully they make that adjustment for 2k24. Once ea releases with frostbite 2k23 will be doa.

I'm having an extremely varied experience with this game now that I've also bought the PC version to go along with the XBox Series X version. I can set the graphics to 1080p on my PC and have it animate the game at a steady 60 FPS. I find the game plays so much more consistently and responsively at a solid 60 FPS, compared to the variable frame rate I get - even in Performance mode - on the Series X.

I'm playing the game in Career mode and multiplayer on the PC version because it plays so much better. I play in two Societies on the Series X and the swing feels so different that I'm all over the course when I play it now. I get the seemingly random, Very Fast, or Very Slow tempo at least once a round on the Series X, but never on the PC version.

I'll keep playing the game on the Series X for the sake of the two Societies I enjoy, but I feel like I'm just a marker in those tournaments now as I can't really compete with the lack of consistent feel that I have for the swing on XBox, thanks to the smooth, consistent performance I'm getting out of the PC version.

I was hesitant to say this because I didn't want to come across as prioritizing graphics over gameplay, but I agree 100%. It's tough playing a game that uses next gen's cosmetic capabilities and then going to PGA Tour 2K23. And I hope there is a 2K24 and not another 2 year cycle. The game has promise.

If they go with a new engine, I have no doubt it's going to be in 2 years before a new 2K/HB game. This version should be the last one with the old gen consoles, if they don't switch engine now, they will never do it.

Have made my 4th straight cut in CC-K and getting more and more consistent it seems each week with the ball striking but putting is still my achilles heel. I burn so many edges on birdie opportunities and give strokes back when trying to save par.
I do everything in my power to avoid pitch shots especially partials but really just try to avoid them all together. Just cannot control the distance on them.

So, the Clubhouse Pass Season 1 ends in just under 12 hours. No news as of yet in terms of when Season 2 will start, but we have been told in the roadmap of things to come that more Callaway clubs, Under Armour gear, cross-play, and ranked matchmaking would arrive for Season 2.

The 2K team has done most patch updates/announcements on Fridays in the past, so maybe we will learn more tomorrow?

EDIT: well, they just posted about the new "100 Thieves" apparel that's now available. But it's only attainable thru the "100 Thieves 100 Holes Challenge" in-game. Totally forgot what that means, so I looked it up, and here you go:

"Over the course of five weeks starting on January 5, players will be challenged to play 100 holes per week. Players who complete 100 holes will receive the corresponding reward for that week, the following Monday. Keep an eye out for the in-game notification announcing the start of the 100 Holes Challenge in January for more information."

That's how I understand it...hoping it will be clarified in that post that's supposed to show up in-game some point today (or soon).

EDIT: The in-game post is up. It says that if you play 100 holes from 12 a.m. PST on January 5 thru 11:59 p.m. PST on January 11, you'll get a 100 Thieves forest green crewneck sweatshirt. It does not specify if all courses are eligible, or if they will only count holes played at official courses (the Barstool Breaking 90 challenge was only at official courses).

It also says that, if you complete the challenge, you'll get the shirt automatically in your locker by 11:59 p.m. PST on January 16th.

And another in-game message now says that the Jordan Brand cosmetic items are back in the pro shop to purchase with VC, so if you missed those around launch, they are back. I don't see them in there yet, but the items that are featured (Christmas stuff) are set to get removed at midnight tonight.

Not crazy about the official courses the last challenge was a grind. Seems as if I played all my rounds too early today to get credit if all courses are to be included. Got the week anyway left to go.
