Love reading different opinions about the game before I get it on Friday. I haven't seen any mention of AI difficulty in career mode. If you assign a percentage at the start of a tournament does it stay that way for the whole tournament or can you adjust it between rounds? I'm thinking if conditions for the next round are harder (eg from calm to strong winds) it would be nice if I can make AI scoring a bit worse, as would happen in real life. This has often been a problem in golf games - AI scoring unrelated to course conditions.

Agreed - other than off the tee, difficulty is one of the least of my concerns. I too had to turn a few aids on (from the sounds of it, the same ones you did).

Yes, the game definitely has plenty to customize the gameplay. Here's what I'm currently rolling with:

I hope I am missing something here, but I'm starting to think this game is nowhere near release level.

I played the Trial yesterday, and now today I have early access to the full game. I keep rebooting the PS5 to try to start all over with the full version (early access). But every time I choose the game in the PS5 menu, it takes me right back to where I was with the Trial, 4 rounds into career mode.

I want to completely reset all of this and start from the very beginning, with a new my player golfer, etc. Does anyone know how to do this? I've tried to find a way for a half hour and can't figure it out.

One other thing I noticed tonight...my wife grabbed the controller from me to take a few shots (we play 2k often). After a couple of holes, she had a greenside chip. For whatever reason, and it wasn't because it was next to an object, tree, grandstand, etc, the only camera angle she had to take her shot was the very "top" camera, 30 feet above her head. I said, "that's weird, I've never seen that". She was forced to just move the stick and hit the ball, she had no chance of actually aiming, or seeing how to shoot, at all.

Next hole for her...same exact thing happens. She rolled off the back of the green with her approach. No objects anywhere near her for her up and down, greenside 2nd cut. She goes to take her shot, and the only camera angle is again 30+ feet directly above her. We spent 10 minutes trying to get the camera view down to ground level like usual. Nope. She had to take a blind shot from a ****ing drone view just to move the ball forward, again.

I want so very badly for this game to be awesome. But the more time I'm spending with it, overlooking the shot mechanics and slow physics, it's becoming more and more obvious this thing is basically in beta mode. Alpha even. Basic stuff is broken.

So does anyone know how to completely reset the game, new career mode? 30 minutes trying to find out how to restart a season, or even the game itself, and nothing.

Really loosing my self imposed enthusiasm for this game. It's just nowhere near "done". Ugh.

Even with the broken English, this guy is exactly right on all points. And he's only pointing out a handful of issues.

EA has delivered the most jaw droppingly beautiful TURD of a sports game of all time. Great courses, graphics, modes of play, career mode depth, etc, pasted on top of the Rory code. And even basic stuff that worked in Rory isn't working here.

I'm still on the hook if they get the message and patch this thing, heavily, very soon. If not, it's a $90 dust bunny in the corner of my gaming world. I'm actually kinda pissed about it all at this point lol.

And one last rant. Why the **** can't we have access to a fooking HAT from the get go? The player models are already so generic and ugly, you would think that from the start you would have access to at least ONE generic ball cap to cover those ugly heads. No. The only options it shows in the Store is 4000 coins to by a cap.

Why in the world would they launch this game with absolutely no way to at least outfit your basic golfer with the bare minimum clothing options that are common to even the weekend hack at the local muni?

Confirmed...you must play 4 round events in career mode, even at PGA Tour level, as there is no setting to adjust event length:

Odd as we know from the career mode preview that you can select rounds for different events.

Leads me to believe the build we currently have is old and it will be patched before Friday. Might explain why the game appears unfinished.

For the person who asked about your created golfer at the start of career. You can build your player up in quick rounds before you start.

Sorry, more rant.

I completely reset the game, deleted all info from the Storage menu in PS5, and restarted the PS5 after doing so. It still has my previously created golfer, just a new season.

And, most importantly, I've turned off shot arc (tracer), and every other visual aid/graphic feedback aspect of the game other than putting beads. Multiple times. But, they are all still there.

EDIT: I'll try to stop after this. Just noticed that almost every time, the announcers say the wrong score. I'm playing my player vs Scheffler, and every time they say we are "one over, one under", whatever, it's not correct. Not even close. 7 holes in on this round and it's been wrong for both me and Scottie every time.

Punting this one until patches. ****e.

In the start of this review it talks about playing at 30fps.
Not everyone plays at 30fps.
Some play with an unlocked framerate and some of us haven't noticed any delay in the swing.
Not everyone plays on a console unlike this review presumes we do.
