Re: F1/IRL/All Other Forms of motorsports Thread

I don't really mind the Indy Car street circuits, though it would certainly be more exciting if they were racing at dedicated road courses like Watkins Glen, Road America, etc. instead. One thing is for sure: There's way too many of them. The vast majority of the schedule is street circuits this year.

Of course, I'm also not really a traditional Indy Car fan as I just started watching over the last couple years. Also, I get all the ovals I can handle when watching NASCAR, so I enjoy the road courses.

I watched the GP2 race on Saturday and Rossi (American) finished third. I hope he makes it up to F1 sometime so I have someone to root for (he is currently the test driver for Catternham, I believe). At the moment, I just root for anyone to beat Vettel.

I see he didn't do so hot in the Sunday race, though (20th).

Wow, great end to the Indy Car race. I don't understand how Sato didn't get penalized for blocking, but Hinchcliffe got it done, anyways.

He's only testing... to this point. Last I heard, no one was doing the double.

NASCAR is trying to do their best to make sure that nobody does the double either. It's not in their benefit for them to let one of their drivers compete in both events.

So pissed I have to work all day this coming Sunday. I'm going to miss Monaco, the Indy 500, and the Coca-Cola 600.

Sounds like cruel and unusual punishment if you have to work 15+ hours straight on a holiday weekend. Monaco starts at 7:30; Coke 600 ends at ~10:30.

I should correct myself. I should be able to see the latter half of the Coke 600 and, technically, I could see the first half of Monaco, but I'm not getting up early on a day I have to work. Perhaps I can catch it on replay or something.

My GOODNESS. What an ending to the Indy Lights Race.

3 Wide for the lead on the final lap through 3 and 4, guy in 4th makes it 4 wide at the line and wins

Wow! Very seldom does it seem Indy (the track) actually produces good finishes.

Auto shop better have a TV in there when I go in a bit. If they don't put it on NBC, I riot. This looks to be a pretty good race so far.

Well, I got a call just as I was leaving a few minutes ago telling me that my shift is canceled. Looks like I will get to see today after all!

Looks like a red flag right now.

You know I don't watch much F1 but I am becoming a fan of Sergio Perez. He is a hard nose driver who isn't afraid to take some risks. He might be a little reckless but he is fun to watch. Tough break for him today also.
