    How'd your race go, James?
Decent, I guess. I ran around 20th for most of the race, but took advantage of some late mayhem to get up to 10th. I almost lost it in the closing laps and made some contact with RutgersKev (though he saved it) and ended up 12th. Maybe I'll upload the replay tonight.

I am going to race tonight, as well. I think I'm going to change up paint schemes and go with the City Chevrolet Days of Thunder scheme!

EDIT: 30.28 in Q tonight. I hit the wall on Thursday night, which invalidated my time and just started in the back.

Nice. I was thinking about switching schemes last week, but never did. Been running the Nationwide paint for a bit, might swap to a NAPA one after tonight.

Ran a 30.5xx in qual which I'm fairly happy with. Would have liked to do a .4, but I've only run a few of those in practice so a .5 is good

Edit: Qualified 4th as car 21 so this should be interesting.

Wonder if you'll see more DWC drivers in your split now that their season is essentially over with.

Looks like we've got Busa, Conti, Bowes, and maybe a couple others. I'm driver #14, so top split's SOF is probably around 5300-5400 tonight, which is nice.

I qualified 5th, which is surprising. I've been qualifying so much better since the new build for some reason. I always used to be a terrible hot-lapper.

Regarding the paint scheme, we'll see going forward. I love the Gordon rainbow colors, but there's a lot of drivers who use that scheme, so it's not very unique.

          Lap 20 and 4 cautions.

Lap 66 and our 8th caution. Unfortunately I got caught up in this one and have 9 minutes of required and 4 minutes of optional.

My car got wrecked pretty bad fairly early in the race and the rest of it was running around with a destroyed car. I finished 17th 4 laps down. We never got any cautions after the first 60 laps, so I never got to fully repair my damage and/or get back on the lead lap. Fun...

I was in the top 10 when the wreck happened right in front of me, too. Oh, well.

              Re: iRacing after 2+ years

Sounds like our races were similar.

Two cars right in front of me got together and I had no where to go. Ended up 23 or so laps down after fixing my damage, and finished the race 26 laps down thanks to a long green flag run. Pretty disappointing as I definitely had a top 5 car, and I think I could have finished 3rd.

Last three NiS races I've finished 15th, 16th, and 15th, for a combined 61 laps down, but I've still managed to gain 19 iRating. Think I used up all my good luck in my first NiS race where I finished 2nd as I've been involved in a wreck in each of my 4 races since.

Think I might run the Class A race as I'd like to get another race in at NH this week. Actually enjoy the combo quite a bit even with the lack of passing, I just had no time at all to race this week.

Yeah, I think I'm going to run the A race in an hour, as well.

Dover is probably going to be a mess next week, unfortunately.

Is this a normal thing or because of the recent update? I was looking forward to running there at some point, but not if it is Bristol+.

No, just a normal thing, though to be honest I've also had some good, long green flag runs at Dover, so we'll see. My last NiS race there was pretty awful in the closing laps.

Dover tends to lend itself towards some good green flag racing for a lot of the race, but it seems like the end is often a wreckfest since there's not a lot of room to race others side-by-side and it's easy to get loose on corner exit if you mash the throttle.

                    ---

Anyways, the Class A race I ran last night didn't go officlal, but I did race a C Fixed race (SCARY!) and I recorded it since my NiS race at NHMS apparently didn't record for some reason, and last night's NiS race isn't worth uploading since it's basically me driving around a wrecked car for 2/3rds of the race.

I passed out before the Class A race last night. Sounds like I didn't miss much.

Tried a few practice laps at Dover earlier, which I think is the first time I've run laps at Dover, and boy is it bumpy. The set didn't seem too loose off the corners which could be a positive in terms of cutting back on the yellows, but I'm probably just slow.

I just did my first GT3 sprint race. Wow, those are great. Maybe when I get some more time I will do a endurance race with a team. I love how you can recover from mistakes and still do well as long as you keep your cool and don't let mistakes cause mistakes.

Also, I don't have to worry about yellow flags which is nice and makes the race so much smoother.

I really enjoyed the GT3 race I did a few weeks back. Wish I had more time so I run GT3 more, but there's not enough hours in the day.

Are you still enjoying your Rift?

Looks like NiS open has single file restarts with lapped cars inside turned on tonight. But it doesn't seem like the fixed series is going to get to enjoy that.

I am loving the Rift. I could not go back to triple screens. It does have it's problems (it is a developers kit not the real thing) but it so more immersive.

I did another GT3 race tonight. Everything was going well until I hit another car that spun out in front of me. 8.5 minutes of repair. I ended up 7 laps down and finished 12th out of 18. It was a little frustrating.

I am going to continue doing the GT3 series only though.

How do the distances look with the Rift? I noticed with triple monitors the distance is sometimes hard to gauge.
