        Hoo,

Just a suggestion, but could we do all stock next week, preferably with the same car? Reason being, I think player skill sets would really shine in a setup like that.

It would make for some great racing and puts everyone on an equal playing field.

i was thinking the same thing. we shouldn't do it every week but every now and again i think it would be really cool. the v8 supercars in r3 could be one candidate. or we just pick a model of car and all run that.

also as i just weaseled out of work tomorrow i was going to just run a couple of timed races tonight around 930 pm est for anyone who wanted to join. there is an achievement for running 10 timed online races so i wanted to start towards that and would rather do it with you guys then just going online. let me know if anyone is interested and we can figure out a track and all that later.

If anyone wants a solid S class car, I recommend picking up a 99 Lotus Elise. The car is a beast and really fun to drive. Another car I am having a ball with, is the Lancia Delta in B class.

I flat out sucked last night. The only reason I came in 6th on the last race was because Chris kept losing control of the car. Plus I think he spun out on purpose a couple times on Road Atlanta so I could pass him, and then he could pass me again Are you guys doing your own tunes? Buying tunes? I just can't keep up. Any tips? I was at least 4-5 seconds slower per lap than the rest of you.

Personally, I don't know about everyone else but practice makes perfect. I race every track and then race it again. Something that helps me is to go as hard as I can on a track, flat out, on the edge. That way you know how hard you can push your car to the edge without going over.

I don't use a tune, I'm just to lazy to mess with them but work with your assists too. Those always help you get faster.

Here is the strategy I use:

                  1. Run a Race
                  2. Check the leaderboard for that race
                  3. Buy the car most consistent on the leaderboard
                  4. Buy the highest rated tune.. Usually for several classes
                  5.Walla.. You sir are competitive...

And.. practice is never a bad idea

The Delta is a pretty solid car, I'm running it in mid S class in a touring car series and it's acceleration makes up for the lack of top speed, however last night all the Ferrari's kind of dispelled that a bit with my topped out Delta.

I just downloaded the most downloaded tune for cars I wanted to run on Forza 3, however I've started to get into tuning a bit now, there are plenty of threads over on the Forza boards concerning it. The only real advantage to tuning your self is that you can tune it to what you want the car to do. Like I like to be able to put in some throttle over steer if I need to but with a bought tune you have to run what they set up.

I like the idea of a stock-only race. I'm thinking Corvettes.

As to tuning, I'm still figuring it out. I've got one Viper in my garage in a good place (honestly, the Viper is probably my best car), but I also have duds like that Class D Nissan 240SX which was nowhere near competitive.

I also spend too much time painting vinyls, lol. The lack of actual recent track time on my end is evident in how out of control I was in the second race with the Ferrari; the third race wouldn't have mattered even if I had practiced, as I simply don't have the precision with the throttle to have any prayer of controlling that Sagaris. Which is no longer my car, by the way.

When you guys are racing in the league online, is there a restriction as to what assists you can use? The only assist I use is the "preferred line" assist or whatever it's called, because I have a hard time seeing upcoming corners on my 27" TV, lol. I don't think I'd be competitive without it. I really need to upgrade my TV

I don't think we have any restrictions. I use the braking line my self just because it's hard to memorize a braking point for every car.

Fair warning, I don't think I'm going to be able to make it tomorrow. Work is stupid-busy right now, which on one hand is good because I enjoy my work but on the other hand is unfortunate because it may keep me from leading this tomorrow evening.

In the event that I'm not here to host, I'll still record race results in the spreadsheet if one of you wants to keep track and then PM em to me.
