I appreciate your rant Bullit it's easy for something to turn into a long rant that was first meant to be short. I didn't intentionally mean for my point to be so long but I really couldn't have proven my point without it. But it was something I have suspected for a while and I knew the numbers and that they backed up my theory.

Re: OSFC-AAA Texas 500
I've heard some rumors today that it may not be NASCAR that parks Kyle for the rest of the season that Joe Gibbs or Kyles sponsors may be stepping in and suspending him for the final 3 races of the year. Like I said these are all rumors that I've heard but wouldn't surprise me especially since Kyle represents Joe Gibbs Racing and his sponsors.“Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety.”

I would think that was a definite possiblity. Joe Gibbs doesn't tolerate that kind of stuff. If I remember correctly he really busted Tony Stewarts chops back when he was with Gibbs Racing, and was having all of his issues. I would not be surprised if Gibbs let him go.In Loving memory of my "Cricket" 1/2/96 - 11/19/2012

Re: OSFC-AAA Texas 500
Now on to Kyle....I think we should give him 2 options...
1) Set out the remainder of the season & the Daytona 500
or
2) Lock him in a room with Richard Childress and have him kick his A$$ againPSN:EVH_4_EVERComment

i'm not as big of a KB h@ter as most people here, but i do understand that what he did was WRONG. I do believe he should be suspended for the rest of the year, either from Nascar, Mars, or JGR, however he should not at al be suspended from anything next year. He has all off season to reflect and correct his actions. If he does something similar next year, then perhaps it's time to throw down the hammer. But let's not punish him for something next year that took place this year.Individuality: Always remember that you are unique. Just like everybody else.

I would agree with this if it was a first offense. However wasn't he already on probation for similar actions? Hasn't he been in trouble with the law on more than one occasion this year? These are actually questions I am not being a trouble maker, I dont follow the sport like I used to. One of the reasons I don't is because of things like this, I am just so tired of jokers like this. NASCAR needs to be consitant and more firm in their action, but I feel this way about most profesional sports in general. In Loving memory of my "Cricket" 1/2/96 - 11/19/2012

Re: OSFC-AAA Texas 500
If NASCAR really wants to send a message to the drivers that they are not playing around and will not tolerate blatant disregard for other drivers' safety they should suspend Kyle for the remainder of this year and all of next year.Comment

The reason I say take him out in Daytona is because he took away Ron's chance at the truck title and he should miss that chance at the title next season as he's already out of the mix this season. I guess another option would be to dock him like 50 points going into next season so he would have a hole to dig out of.PSN:EVH_4_EVERComment

Re: OSFC-AAA Texas 500
I hear what your saying but let's be honest...He's out of the points race this year for the most part so missing the race is about like suspending a kid for missing too much school. He's drinking a beer on his boat out on the lake.

Well missing the Daytona 500 would not take away Kyles chance at a championship next year. This is a guy that can easily win 4,5,6 or more races in a season and with the wild card that would get him in. Plus remember Kevin Harvick had an engine failure in the 500 this year and finished 43rd, so he left with only 1 point and when the chase started where was he in points? 1st. So it's not about the points it's about the Daytona 500. That is the race that every driver dreams of winning, they look forward to it every winter, that race is a season in itself, because of all the work and effort that goes into it. They call it The Great American Race because of what it means. It took Earnhardt 20 years to win that race and that was the one that was the most important to him. Now what if Kyle had to sit out that race and his replacement driver wins it, then he goes the rest of his career and never wins it. It would then always be on his mind "What if I hadn't had been an idiot and gotten myself suspended? What if that was the year that I was meant to win it? And my actions cost me a Daytona 500." See why I say suspend him for that race as well? That's a hard lesson learned there, but hopefully a lesson learned.“Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety.”

anybody see ESPN's pre race interview with JG? They flat out asked him if Kyle was going to lose his job and he never said no.Individuality: Always remember that you are unique. Just like everybody else.

Re: OSFC-AAA Texas 500
Yeah he may have went and lost his job. The statement by the Mars company is the one that really sounds like he could be done. The sponsors call the shots on the drivers more now days than the owners do. To me it sounded as if they was saying "Look coach if you want to keep us as the sponsor of your 18 car and keep our money in your shop then you better fire Kyle and get a driver that reflects the image that we want to display" I gotta say I haven't had any M&M's or any Mars products since they come on as the sponsor of Kyle Busch. I would buy their product if a guy like Michael McDowell was driving their car.“Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety.”

Re: OSFC-AAA Texas 500
I wouldn't fire Kyle.......he wins races and makes everyone within his organization money. He is one of the best drivers in Nascar. Replacing him with someone like McDowell or anyone else getting kicked to the curb on other teams is not really a viable solution.
He needs to sit the rest of this season for all Nascar sponsored races.Last edited by Rules; 11-06-2011, 04:24 PM.Comment

Re: OSFC-AAA Texas 500
If you are the owner of a major corporation like Mars Candy, Interstate Batteries or any other company and your shelling out millions of dollars a year are you sure you want a man that has had many run ins with people on the track, been on probation multiple times, quick tempered and uses his racecar as a weapon to deliberately hook divers into the wall, oh and was also caught on a state highway doing 128 in a 45 and told the cop this is just a toy. If your the owner of that company would you want this man to be the face of your franchise? He might win races but he also is very dangerous and you have to ask yourself is the reward worth the risk. Do you want your product to be on the car the second he looses it and hooks a guy into the wall ending his career or his life? Knowing that that replay with your brand on it will be viewable from now on.
Besides, how much is Mars enjoying watching McDowell drive around in the back currently 31st two laps down as that is what to expect week in and week out if you get rid of Kyle.
Again, Kyle is an idiot thus is why you sit him the rest of this season and put him on probation thru 2012. Ban him from the truck series for 2012 as well.Last edited by Rules; 11-06-2011, 04:54 PM.Comment
