Seems like you didn't review the game for what it was and has always been but for what you wanted it to be. Nice addendum at the end but you got it all backwards. Review the game for what it is intended to be and how well it achieves this (a fun, fast past, good looking, online arcade rally game which I believe you said got a 4/5) and then add your own two cents as to why the game doens't live up to your preconcieved notions and why a 'sim' racer, like yourself, wouldn't enjoy it.

If you know your extensive racing and driving background doesn't allow you to enjoy an arcade racer without bias then you should have passed on the review. This is by far the worst review I have ever seen on OS.

So if NBA JAMS doesn't live up to the same level of realism that is found in ESPN NBA or NBA Live then based on no other criteria it is a bad game? When I look at a 2 out of 5 I don't see you judging Rallisport 2 on anything but how 'realistic' it was to you.

You're comparing Rallisport to NBA Jam? You this Rallisport is marketed as an EA-Big like product? That it is designed and intended as a completely over-the-top racing experience, like maybe Burnout?

I haven't seen those ads, or those previews. Nowhere do I see Rallisport marketing itself as so far outside a sim that the JAM analogy holds up. It positions itself as a sim racer with some leniency - not an outrageous, power-up filled arcade blowout.

Obviously RSC2 isn't an over the top racer........However, considering the original RSC came out quite some time ago, it was very obvious what type of game this would be, despite the lack of arcade-type marketing.

Anyway, when I first read this review, I was like, what is he talking about. I was loving RSC2 at the time. But I take every review as that man's opinion. But the more I played the game, the more Terry is dead on. I would give the game about a 3/5, but it's no 4 or 5/5. Online the game gets very old, and offline it repeats itself over and over again. I say great review.
