I did some dirt rally cross for the first time today (my first experience with dirt in iRacing). That was pretty fun! I will have to try dirt oval soon.

Rallycross is so much fun. I love it. However, I joined a league called The Majors Series and I have been spending all my time practicing for that.

Yeah, it's definitely a lot of fun. I wish it was all dirt instead of combo paved/dirt, though!

I just did my first dirt street stock race, which was also a lot of fun. I didn't realize where to exit the pits in qualifying, so my "flying" lap was done on pit road (LOL) and I started 10th/11th. I got spun on the first lap, but from there on out it was smooth sailing and I recovered to 3rd after nearly being lapped, finishing only 4.5 seconds behind the leader in the end (so I guess I could have maybe won if I hadn't crashed at the start, argh!).

Lots of wrecking, but it's rookie, so what can you expect?

My best lap was a 16.860.

These races are perfect for the Rift, too, since I've never really liked keeping the rift on for a long period of time, and these dirt races are typically pretty short.

I used to like doing the long NASCAR iRacing Series races, but since I got the Rift, I haven't tried those. Perhaps it wouldn't be as bad as I think it would, but it seems like a long time (close to 2 hours sometimes) to have that thing sit on my face.

I'm glad you are having fun. The dirt midget is the best car to run on oval in my opinion. When you get there you will understand. That series has heat racing as well.

I can understand the rift thing. I'm running 2.4 hours of Daytona in the Audi 90 tonight. I'll let you know how it goes wearing it for that long.

That was the most fun I have ever had road racing. It was very clean and competitive. I used SODE to calculate my fuel and had no issues at all with it.

I ended up putting in 81 laps with an average of 1:48.5, which includes 3 pitstops. The rift was pretty comfortable. I lifted it up and drank water during the pitstops but it was bearable for that long. I ran about 2 and 2/3 stints in the Audi 90.

Good to see everyone still having fun.

The OS series wont be something I can do now, just have so many things going on at work right now.

Anyone running the Road To Pro Series starting next week?

I got too much on my plate between my Midget league on Monday nights and the Majors league.

Are you going to be running it?

I think I am going to show up with the fixed setup and run third splits. Too much work to put in to get my iRating back up. Just want to go run and have fun, unless they turn into caution-fests.

This doesn't seem too bad. I'm around 2k on the Oval side. Maybe we end up in the same split. I might try it at Daytona.

Well I ran the RtP tonight. I qualified 3rd in split 14 (maybe 15) and things went pretty well. Until, about lap 54. Two lapped cars had a hard time getting out of the way and ended up causing a 4 wide in the corner when one of them hit the one and the one behind dropped below him to get around. Needless to say that I got wrecked. 10 minutes of repair and 6 laps later my race was over with a blown motor.

                      P28. Very tough finish.

I was running top 2 the entire race, the team gave me a good setup rather than the fixed set. Got spun into 1 on the last lap finished 10th. Looks like it will be scrapped though since they set it up with the wrong points.

                          10th isn't bad. What split?

I ran in 2nd most of the time on the high line. I stayed out on the first caution and had to pit under green. That's where I fell back and ended up in the pack that got wrecked.

I saw the points fiasco. I had a good time tonight. The high line was really fast. Hopefully, the rest of the races are this good.

I decided to race NiS Fixed again for the first time in over a year this evening. I was car #27 in top split and I puddled around in the back for 65 laps before my screen went black (I decided to race on the monitor rather than the Rift for the longer race). I think my HDMI cable came undone, at least I hope that's all it was. Nice waste of an hour. I had a pretty good time without the Rift, actually. A little less fatiguing and it is a lot easier to get set up to race when I don't have to get the Rift working right...

Kind of frustrating as I kind of psyched myself up all week for getting back into NiS, and then to have technical issues ruin it is just... Maybe I'll give it another go Sunday evening, but I'm not so sure.

I ended up running an A Fixed race last night after being frustrating after the NiS race. Pretty fun. I decided to upload it to YouTube to see how it was. Unfortunately, I don't know how to stop in my pit stall, apparently.
