Wow, just ran into a huge glitcher. Somehow he's figured out a way to increase the number of points, he's upgraded his S&V 9 times, his offensive baseline play 16 times, and his defensive baseline play 251 times. So basically, he's over 100 in everything that matters. He sort of sucks, which is the only reason I won any points at all, but something needs to be done to fix this before everyone figures it out.

Re: Top Spin 4 Impressions/Questions Thread
Hey guys. I'm really enjoying the demo, and am thinking of picking this title up. One question: how many players are in the draw for the major tournaments (Grand Slams, Masters Series)? I'd be disappointed if it was less than 128 for the slams and 64 for the others. Thanks in advance!Comment

the answer to your question is somewhere in this thread, I remember a lot of people being upset at how small the number is. I haven't even tried career mode and really don't plan on doing so, so the number isn't really of my concern

Masters events have 16 player draws and 4 rounds, slams have 32 player draws and 5 rounds.Comment

Re: Top Spin 4 Impressions/Questions Thread
Sorry, Lorenzo, this isn't true, and I'm talking from real-life experience here. This game does not mirror the phyiscs of the real surfaces very well. Slight differences, yeah, but nowhere near the real deal. Actually, the devs even stated that, as they said that they didn't want to make it TOO much different for each surface so it wouldn't throw the player off that much and frustrate them. It was a slight bummer for me when I found this out, but an even bigger deal is the sound when the ball hits the clay or grass, which just isn't right.Last edited by Smallberries; 04-04-2011, 01:39 PM.Comment

There is no lack of aces, it just takes practice with a little bit of skill to actually get them.Former OS Editor.

Yea, don't be fooled with my demo comment regarding lack of aces.
I just suck at the game."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

Re: Top Spin 4 Impressions/Questions Thread
Had a career high 17 aces with my player in the Madrid Tennis Tournament championship match against Nadal on very hard. Won a very good match 6-4, 6-4. You could tell that late in the 2nd set he was getting tired and that's where I got the majority of my aces. My player only has 2 losses, 1 really early in his career to some unknown guy, and my other is to Davydenko in just last tournament. That's the only time I've played Davydenko and don't know why I struggled so much. I think Fed is one of the easier top players to beat for some reason.Comment

Re: Top Spin 4 Impressions/Questions Thread
Hello everyone,
I'm still planning to get a copy of this game and so far I've been seeing alot of positive reviews about it. I just have a question regarding the online side of it. Do you connect to the servers right away? Any lag issues? How do you rate the world tour? Any feedback is highly appreciated.
Thanks!Comment

The lack of players in the grand slams is the icing on the cake though.Comment

Re: Top Spin 4 Impressions/Questions Thread
3-0 against Federer, Djokovic, and Nadal...
...0-1 against Gilles Simon
Beat Federer like 6-3 6-1, Djokovic 1-6 7-5 6-1, and Nadal 6-4 7-6 on Very Hard. That loss to Simon hurt bad though.NFL: Bills

Still looks like a pretty good game, but I was looking forward to differences from sruface to surface. Hopefully I can find this on a kiosk and see for myself.
How are folks feeling about the lack of commentary? I hated that about Top Spin 3.Shout out to The Watcher! Where you at bruh?Comment

Re: Top Spin 4 Impressions/Questions Thread
Once again I fail in an online WT Grand Slam final b/c of the utter lack of unforced errors. There's no pro that can consistently hit 100 mph off of both sides and not hit UEs the entire match. I'm a balanced player (3 SV, 10 OB, 7 DB) but once I run into the guys w/ 90+ power it's all over. It's the one thing that grates me the most, I've seen guys put all 20 of their levels into offensive baseline and face virtually no drawbacks online at least b/c of the lack of UEs.Comment
