I may be way off with this as I didn't own Top Spin 3 but I read on the 2k forums that in that game once your player ended a season as World Number 1 the mode ended. Was that true and if it was does anyone know if that has changed in Top Spin 4?

Re: Top Spin 4 Impressions/Questions Thread
Level 20 just means the player is fully developed. It does not mean every pro is equal at everything.
Online create a player matches are awesome. Far more fun then playing Roddick everytime. You get to see each person's character and it will match you up with a player equal to your level. I love that concept..I know 2k did this with all pro football and it is just more fun to take on someone's created player then to see the same pro over and over. The whole tournament concept is awesome..just a killer game, but it really is meant for online play. If you are not online, you are probably missing out on 70% of the game because playing another human in tennis is the most fun sports experience I have had in a long time.Comment

Re: Top Spin 4 Impressions/Questions Thread
Hey guys, I'm reviewing the game for OS. An impressions article will be coming within the next day, but I'll be playing for about another week until I do my full review.
Feel free to ask any questions on anything from a polo t-shirt to how realistic a clay surface is.
Also I'll be updating on Twitter with impressions @eckoefx_OS.
But so far...this is a fantastic game.Former OS Editor.

How realistic is the clay surface of the Roland Garros court in the game?
Spoileryou don't need to answer I have the game, and just wanted to bust your chops.
Looking forward to your review, glad it seems like you are enjoying the game as much as I am.

Re: Top Spin 4 Impressions/Questions Thread
-Why are so many players ranked 20?? If memory serves me correctly, EVERY single pro is rated 20 with the exception of Bernard Tomic who is a 19. Is this saying that Gilles Simon and James Blake are on the same level of Rafa Nadal and Roger Federer? Come on 2K... why not rakn players out of 100 so you can create more distinction between different skill levels?Have an awesome day!!Comment

Much improved AI and gameplay over TS3. Plays more like the real thing than any other tennis game I've played. Strangely, I've never loved seeing unforced errors as much as I do in TS4. Fatigue also makes a difference here. Miss-hits off the racquet head. And opponents will change tactics on you. I love all that!
thanks.Comment

Re: Top Spin 4 Impressions/Questions Thread
I'll give an example - when an opponent's fatigue bar is low, they are more likely to try to end the points fast, either by serve and volleying, or going for a winner straight off the bat.Comment

Great game so far, gameplay, crowd noise, few suggestions for next time (hopefully it sells well);
-edit ability or lack there of; can't edit fake players or existing pros. an NBA 2k system of editing / share would have been perfect for this game. don't tell me there wouldn't have been people out there creating all top 100 players for this game.
-Wimbledon; bargain with EA, they're just sitting on the license. they could have rented the right to use the court for this year or negotiated something with their rival.
-no tournament mode; someone mentioned not being able to use pros in career, this would be close to that (and I believe this mode was in TP3)
-more licensed tournaments; Monte Carlo and Montreal (rogers cup)
-presentation; crowd atmosphere is spot on, but no ball person/lines judge movement. players never get injured or drink water, towel off, argue calls. no tv commentators. and isn't indian wells and the US open played at night?Comment

Re: Top Spin 4 Impressions/Questions Thread
The AI is phenominal in this game. Played a serve and volley player and he was always changing tactics to counter whatever I was throwing at him. Just when I thought I had him figured out he would try something new as a counter the entire match. It was like a chess game and very strategic. You could tell alot of time was spent on developing a good AI. That adds alot of replay value offline. Every match I win I feel I earned. The career mode is steller with what I've seen so far.Comment

good stuff on the AI.
If you liked the career mode as you are hardcore on your depth and quality of those types of modes in games, then I am sold!Comment

One more little thing that would have been nice for this game is name recognition so that the announcer isn't always like "Player 1 leads 3 games to love" when you're playing in career mode.NFL: Bills
NBA: Bucks
MLB: Cubs
NCAA: Syracuse
Soccer: USMNT/DC United
