There's definitely a tournament in this game called Monte Carlo. I'm not a high enough rank to play in it yet but I saw it on my calendar.

One more little thing that would have been nice for this game is name recognition so that the announcer isn't always like "Player 1 leads 3 games to love" when you're playing in career mode.

Yeah but it isn't at the real venue that the real Monte Carlo tournament is held.



I'd also like to see a few more real venues, outside of the slams.

Really liking the game. I wish there was a difficulty level between NORMAL and HARD. I haven't played a tennis game in years and the cpu is very challenging on HARD. I don't want it to be easy but, I work really hard to just win a point. It's both fun and frustrating. Have yet to win a match (tour player vs. tour player). NORMAL is ridiculously easy though.

If you haven't done it yet, run thru the Top Spin Academy tutorial to really get the hang of the timing you need and some of the strategy. It only takes like 10 mins to finish the whole thing and it's not that tedious. Timing is the key to everything in this game as you need to be accurate, especially with your powered up swings which isn't as easy as it seems.

I've been playing the game a ton and now am finding Hard difficulty too easy now that I've gotten a good grasp on how the mechanics of the game work. You also need to make sure you are playing to each player's strengths and attacking your opponent's weaknesses.

How realistic is the clay surface of the Roland Garros court in the game?

Haha, you know there are plenty of members here that are probably sweating the purchase of this game based on the Roland Garros surface

I'll give an example - when an opponent's fatigue bar is low, they are more likely to try to end the points fast, either by serve and volleying, or going for a winner straight off the bat.

I haven't seen them attack the net ever when fatigued. Once they get fatigued I just send them back and forth, eventually they do attempt to hit a winner, but it goes way out.

Also the AI is fantastic. Every post here is speaking truth. Each player has their own style and you have to adapt to that when you play them.

I was rocked the first game I played a guy who attacked the net all day. I lost 1-6, but the next game I switched up my game plan and ended up finishing it off 1-6, 6-0, 6-2.

It was brilliant.

I agree, once you get the hang of the timing the game does feel like it gets easier. Hopefully once you move up in the world and get to play the big boys like Robot Federer and Rafa, it'll change.

A quick way to find out is just play them in Exhibition with another level 20 guy.

I have been playing this quite a bit and now I am on level 8 and I find the hard difficulty to be pretty well perfect right now for me. If I don't think about shot placement and strategy then I will lose and most matches against similarly leveled players is quite competitive. I have yet to play Nadal or Federer yet but I can't see it being too easy if I find the difficulty perfect right now with level 8 guys because i feel I have a good grasp of the controls that I can't see me getting much better.

If any of you guys can win on very hard consistently then color me impressed.

good stuff on the AI.
If you liked the career mode as you are hardcore on your depth and quality of those types of modes in games, then I am sold!

If you're a tennis fan then buy it and you won't be sorry. This game will keep you playing for months. I haven't even touched online yet.

my comments about me finding Hard difficulty to be easy were specifically about playing pro vs pro exhibition matches, I haven't touched Career Mode yet. Ive played a lot in the past two days mainly to unlock all the player's 3rd outfits and pretty much dominated everyone except when I used Tomic because he stinks. Now that I've gained some confidence I'm gonna ratchet up the difficulty to Very Hard and avenge my humiliation the CPU laid on me the 1st day I got the game.

After a night of finally putting some serious time in, I feel much better about the serving. At least on the human side as I figure things out and can now hit aces at a realistic pace. Still wish the CPU was a bit more ferocious, but they still do a a decent job of getting you off balance from time to time. Game is just rock solid from a gameplay standpoint in my mind now.

If they would only allow more create a player slots (or just add more players period!), add a tournament mode, and deepen the career mode another step, then the game would be GOTY material easily.

Really odd bug, but I was playing a match in career mode and all of a sudden frame rate started acting horrible. All of a sudden after the AI scores a point on me we both drop our rackets and hold our arms out and legs together in a T shape and just jump around on the court every few seconds and it was pretty much locked up and even when I pressed the Xbox button in the middle of my controller that was all laggy too so I finally just shut it off because I couldn't do anything.

Lol it started with just my guy doing it and I was like "wtf is going on here?" and then all of a sudden my AI opponent starts doing it and I just facepalmed. Sucks too because it was the one of the few times I've been a match.

LoL yeah, good to know it wasnt my 360 telling me its about to die again.
