I can't imagine a better way to revive a classic. Perfect Dark has never looked or played better, and anyone who sank a significant portion of their life into the game a decade ago will happily sacrifice even more of their time to do it all again. There is more content to sift through here than just about any other XBLA game. Sure, the voice acting is terrible and its feeble attempts at humor will have you groaning. But Perfect Dark still has one of the best arsenals of any FPS and the gunplay is very satisfying. This version is even closer to perfection than the original was.
    Sounds like a total winner.

Without a doubt. Since it's the original PD then toss in the Goldeneye maps and weapons.. It's just a total nostalgia trip.

I wish PSN and XBLA had more of these older titles updated like PD.......that would be great.

Yeah I was playing PD yesterday and thought it would be cool if they did more games like this.

since I heard Quake 3 Arena was being ported to xbox live arcade I was excited for it, but as time goes on it looks like it may never make it to the xbox. I just searched for news on it, and the last update I could find was from the middle of the September. The article said it would be released in November of 2009. Nothing has been announced since then. Oh well, I was looking forward to it but it's not like there's a lack of good games for me to play.

Anyone here try out Game Room? Wish they had some Arcade games I actually know of... granted I'm only 17 but I know loads of arcade games and the ones in the game and the DLC I've never heard of... other than Outlaw.

I have a XBL automatic renewal question.

I have had success turning off the automatic renewal online at xbox.com, but going onto my XBOX360s dashboard, under MEMBERSHIP--> RENEWAL, it stills lists 1 month at $7.99 cost.

Does the xbox.com have true precedence over what the console says? I've received an email about the renewal being off, but it still scares me that in the dashboard, it shows none of that.

Does anyone have any experience with this?

I'd personally call Xbox and shut if off via phone.

I had to call them to stop the automatic renewal and they were very accommodating, they reversed the charge to my card (I had already bought a 12 month card for cheaper than 50 bucks).

Hydro Thunder Hurricane announced for Xbox Live Arcade

Microsoft Game Studios and developer Vector Unit today announced Hydro Thunder Hurricane, an Xbox LIVE Arcade-exclusive sequel to the legendary Midway speedboat racing arcade game. Featuring all-new, over-the-top themed environments, rocket-powered speedboats, gorgeous visuals, and amazing dynamic water physics, Hydro Thunder Hurricane is the adrenaline dripping sequel fans have been waiting for.

Hydro Thunder Hurricane includes 8 brand new "theme park" environments, each set in a different location around the globe. Each world is packed with animated surprises, destructible objects, and special events that players trigger in-game. New game modes include Ring Master, a series of slalom-style challenges with progressive difficulties;Gauntlet, an explosive new take on time trial; and a series of multi-event Championships. Fan favorite speedboats from the original Hydro Thunder also make a return like Razorback, Cutthroat, and the flying saucer shaped Rad Hazard with beautifully redesigned models, multiple unlockable skins, and articulated boost animations with massive rockets folding out from hidden compartments. Each boat features unique handling characteristics.

"We're huge fans of the original Hydro Thunder," says Matt Small, Creative Director at Vector Unit. "There's so much there that already works -- the exhilarating boost speeds, the crazy shortcuts, the gigantic jumps and drop-offs. We knew we wanted to keep all of that -- even add more of it. At the same time, we had to bring something new to the table, something more than just recreating the original game with high-res graphics."

Technical Director Ralf Knoesel adds, "We decided to take the ideas that worked from the original, and then start over from scratch. The water physics engine is completely new. Everything affects the racing surface -- the boats leave wakes behind them that other boats can jump off or draft in, falling rocks and explosions create huge waves, we've got wave machines, whirlpools, the works. The water is always changing, so you never get exactly the same race twice."

Hydro Thunder Hurricane introduces support for 8-player online racing on Xbox LIVE.. The game also allows for local split screen multiplayer with up to 4 players -- or any combination of local and online play. In addition to races, players can team up in the new Rubber Ducky game mode.

Hydro Thunder Hurricane is showcasing at Penny Arcade Expo East at booth #811 this weekend. The game launches summer 2010, exclusively available only on Xbox LIVE Arcade.

First gameplay footage for Monday Night Combat - Crossfire Mode

Introducing Monday Night Combat XBLA multiplayer mode called Crossfire. It's a six on six class based mode that puts two teams against each other, Hotshots versus the Icemen, over Xbox Live Arcade. Win Crossfire mode by destroying the opponent's Moneyball while protecting yours. Push your AI controlled Breach Bots to the enemy's base to take down the Moneyball shield so players can destroy it and win money.
