Wow, I'm ready to kill somebody right now. Popped in Civ revolution last night just for a quick little session, haven't played in awhile so had to download patch 1.3. I noticed the game seemed to run a little worse for me after the last patch and this one did not seem to solve the problems at all. Then after about 15 or so minutes my system froze which has never ever happened and I had to switch it off with the back switch because the restart button wasn't even working properly. It was late so I just said oh well and went to sleep, I have had tons of DDEs and freezes with my 360 so I didn't really think twice about it and figured it happens once in awhile no matter what the system.
Turned it on today and it will not read any discs, the disc drive seems to be dead. I put in a few different games and they don't even show up on the home screen at all, it's like the drive is still empty. WTF!!! I have never had one issue with my PS3 and now somehow the disc drive is dead seemingly from some stupid patch for Civ Rev. I deleted all the civilization game data, all saves everything and still nothing. I have to head to work in a few but when I get home I guess I'll try reformat my hard drive and see if that does anything. If not 2K is getting a brick through their boston office window and hopefully this is covered under warranty somehow and I won't be without it too long.
Any other suggestions about how to fix this, has anyone had anything like this happen before. If I deleted all the Civ. info from the game data and save data utility folders will that include patch data or is that somewhere else?
