Well, yeah. EN said what I was going to say.

For me it was good enough to cancel Cable.

Although if I could have justified the money more I would have kept cable. It's no substitue.

Netflix just helped me in my decision of saving some scratch.

Any thoughts on whether or not it's better to place the ps3 flat or have it standing? I would prefer to have mine flat just because it seems like it would be best for the system but I have to stand it up just for space reasons.

I have one sitting flat and one standing. Doesn't seem to make a difference. Although for the one I have standing I bought a stand for it.

Cool, i just picked up a slim today since my fatty broke and it seems to be a bit less stable standing up so that probably wouldn't be a bad idea. Is there anything that the slim does features wise better than the older models did?

I have mine flat, but it is elevated slightly as it's sitting on top of a ramican. It helps with air circulation (I do this for my 360 as well) so the bottom of the system isn't sitting directly against the wood of my entertainment center.

It's really nice. They are adding more movies to instant stream this year, so I'm excited to see what will be made available to us. A lot of good TV shows available as well, and I'm hoping that increases in 2011 as well.

I know I've promoted it before but consider adding the PlayOn application as well. PlayOn will bring plug-ins like Hulu and others that are internet accessible to your PS3, Xbox, Wii and other compatible devices. It even works with XBMC on your PC. It's legit and a one time fee. 3rd part plug-ins are even optional. I got lucky and bought the basic lifetime package for about $20 a few years ago. You can even do a full free trial. I think it's like 15 or 30 days. You just need to have a powerful enough PC to act as a server.

                  Yeah.... it runs quieter.

I loved my 60gig orig but really, now, I much more appreciate the quieter, more stable slim.

Ok, so I don't understand. Do you DL this PlayOn to the PS3? Or your PC? If you DL it to your PC how does it work with the PS3?

You DL it to your PC, which turns it into the server. As you can see by the tabs in the pic you have to purchase a registration no. and you can enable whatever plugins that you want. There's a core no. that come with the basic app and others that come with the premium.

I went ahead and took a screen shot of the second tab to show you the system reqs.

Don't know about that..... not remembering reading anything about upnp being essential. But you can do the full trial with no harm/no foul.

I left my slim PS3 on for 30 straight hours one time... I thought I shut it off but apparently not. It's too quiet I couldn't tell.
