Re: Official PS3 Discussion Part III...

OK so I've given up on my Xbox, for the 3rd time in 4 months, it won't open. So in March I'm getting a PS3. Which one should I get? What is necessary for me to get to have the greatest time possible? Like cables, etc. And what 2 or 3 games should I get to get me started?

And a few questions. Are all of them Wi-Fi ready? Is there any advantage to getting a bigger hard drive? Please let me know everything necessary to fully enjoy my future PS3

You could try that online site where you can sell games to other people for credits. I forget what it's called but I think when you sign up you automatically get some credits. I was able to use those to buy Matrix: Path of Neo back in the day.

Anyone know what I'm talking about? I can't remember what it's called.

PS3 Slim - they have 160/320GB models but the 160GB should be plenty.

All of them are Wi-Fi ready so you don't really need anything extra in that regard (Cables, etc...) and like I said, the PS3 160GB Slim should be perfect for you.

              Question for you guys:

How do I go about using a game save on a friends system?

I have Armored Core and would like to compete against my roommate with my creations. But our saves are on two different PS3s.

I'm new to the PS3 so I dont know how that works on here. Thanks in advance fellas.

You need to buy the HDMI cables I believe.

Some ps3 have packages that come with hdmi cables. When I brought mine it came with it as part of a deal.

Sorry for all the questions, but how long of a cable should I get? And does the HDMI cable work just like HD cables?

From my understanding the shorter the better.

What are HD cables? Component RGB?

HDMI = High-Definition Multimedia Interface. It is the best cable in that it can and will provide 1080p 3D picture for movies and games, and that single cable is for your sound as well, which can provide lossless audio.

Monster is a scam, but if you're looking for 100 foot long HDMI cables you might want to future-proof your system and ensure you have the absolute best cable around just in case, so one of those gold-platted cables might be the way to go. Otherwise, go for three feet if you can yo.
