Re: Official PS3 Discussion Part III...
Those look good. Just one question though. Can the mic be rotated around so that the earpiece can be worn on either ear? I ask because the picture shows the earpiece and mic on the left and I have no hearing in my left ear.@BurghFan,
If you can't get those to work,I just recently picked up a PS3,and didn't want to pay a small fortune for a headset,so I picked these up at BestBuy.
I know what you must be thinking
...but for $20,I was quite surprised, and my friend said he could hear me "plain as day"....so no complaints from me.
If you're looking for a headset for "quiet time" gaming, then these of course won't work, but just wanted to let ya know about these.
Mine did that when it was new. I think I saw someone mention in another thread on here that it was the plastic casing expanding as the system heated up. Haven't noticed it much lately and I've never had any issues with it.Steelers : IX, X, XIII, XIV, XL, XLIII

Yep....I just checked mine, and in the picture it does show it in the left ear,but you can move the mic around so the earpiece can be placed on your right ear.People are for reviews if it backs their argument, and against them when they don't.“I believe the game is designed to reward the ones who hit the hardest – If you can’t take it, you shouldn’t play!” Jack Lambert“Quarterbacks should wear dresses.” Jack LambertComment

Re: Official PS3 Discussion Part III...
It's Knackwurst.
Both of mine still do it. That's what it is. The plastic casing expanding and retracting. One of my slims is an origanal launch model, and it doesn't affect anything at all.Originally posted by Anthony BourdainThe celebrity chef culture is a remarkable and admittedly annoying phenomenon. Sony unleashes the Banhammer!
Sick-em Sony
It looks like Sony's making good on a promise to ban PS3 users who've hacked or elected to run unauthorized software on their consoles. Members of hacking site PS3Hax claim Sony's already wielding its banhammer against "jailbroken" PS3s, knocking the consoles off the company's PlayStation Network permanently.
Sony's initial warning, emailed to an offending user's PSN email address, allegedly reads as follows:
"A circumvention device and/or unauthorized or pirated software currently resides on your PlayStation(R)3 system. Immediately cease use and remove all circumvention devices and delete all unauthorized or pirated software from your PlayStation(R)3 system. Failure to do so will result in termination of your access to the PlayStation(R)Network and access to Qriocity(TM) services through your PlayStation(R)3 system."Originally posted by Anthony BourdainThe celebrity chef culture is a remarkable and admittedly annoying phenomenon. Legitimate!

Re: Official PS3 Discussion Part III...
I just got the YLOD for the VERY first time!!!!

I've been doing a little research the past hour, because my console just SHUT-OFF in mid-game...
I'm not gonna take it apart and fix it, so I am just gonna go out and buy another one....is the SLIM the way to go?? Do they NOT overheat? I don't want this to happen again, as I don't feel like dropping all this cash.

So, I guess I have 2 questions.
1. Is purchasing a new SLIM the best route to take??
2. Since I didn't back up my files, is there any way to get my saved files?Currently playing on PS5 & XBOX SERIES X:
- EA Sports College Football 25 - PS5
- MLB The Show 24 - PS5
- The Elder Scrolls V: SKYRIM - XBOX SERIES X

Yes get the slim. They last much longer and normally don't have problems. As for your saves you are pretty much out of luck. Unless you can fix it.I just got the YLOD for the VERY first time!!!!

Music Unlimited Hits PlayStation Network
Stream over six million songs directly to your PS3.
you get a 30 day free trial of the premium package.Starting today Music Unlimited, Sony's Qriocity-powered music streaming service, will launch on the PlayStation Network in the United States and other key territories.
Music Unlimited allows users to stream more than six million songs from both major and independent record labels, as well as upload your existing music library with a cloud server and share across multiple devices, including the PlayStation 3, Bravia HDTVs, VAIO laptops, and, in the future, the PSP.
Pricing for the service will be broken down into two tiers: basic and premium. For $3.99 a month under the basic plan, users have unlimited access to ad-free radio stations, as well as the ability to create a number of channels personalized by genre, era, and mood. The premium plan, however, will be priced at $9.99 and give users access to all 6 million available songs for individual playback, as well as the ability to create playlists, mark favorites, and access exclusive stations and channels.
The service launched in the UK and Ireland in December and recently expanded to France, Germany, Spain, and Italy. Today, however, marks the first time the service will be available in the U.S., Australia, and New Zealand.
