        My PS3 just blew up.

        It turned itself off and there was a large ammount of heat coming out of it and now it won't turn on at all.

        I was just reading how a bunch of them failed recently then checked the PS forums and seen even more. This is suspcious.

            Sounds like what happened to my first one, only it did turn back on (for a short time anyway, until I let it cool down again). I take it you tried flipping the switch in back?

            Nothing I did did any good for it...it would only stay on for up to an hour before shutting off.

                Yup tried that. Unplugged and reconnected everything too. Off to call,this should be fun.

                Wouldn't fix it. They gave me another number to call and said they might do something but they were closed.

                                I recently had the cover of my left joystick come loose on my DS3. Its really kind hard to describe but it would rotate alot easier than before making my thumb slip off a few times until I removed the cover. Now I have grip but my thumb gets sore easily because it's not cushioned with the cover.

                                Probably nothing and just a result of normal wear and tear but, worth mentioning

                                            can u take the HDD from one ps3 and put it on another one and still keep what u have on thier? wanna know if its possible.

                                                I dont see why not unless the HDD are somehow tied to the console and moving it means you have to reformat. If and when I return my PS3 Im just going to dump my saves on a thumb drive and put them back when I get the new one, dont have a thumb drive handy at all?

                                                    yeah thats what i want to know. can i do it without using a flash drive? just moving my HDD from one ps3 to another.
