Sorry to hear about your system tanking Kevin. I lost my 60GB back in March after getting it on launch.

The funny thing is that everyone had issues with PS2, but I still have my old block of a system. Thing is still going strong this many years later.

That's pretty impressive... I've never had luck with sony products... I've gone through a audio receiver, CRT monitor, PS1 and 2, and a DVD player.... They all broke down on me in less than three years. Every day my PS3 still works (original 60 GB) is a good day.

Yeah, I still have a fat PS2 and a slim and both are working great.

My friend e-mailed me at work this morning and told me that his PS3 just got hit with the YLoD. Unreal.

I bought mine in July of '07. It's a 60 GB. You guys think I'm screwed too?

Man, I don't know. I bought my original PS3 at launch. I don't know if they made any changes to them before you bought one.

Hopefully the Slim comes out at a pretty cheap price point, and I'll try and nab one of those.

This sucks. Here I thought that I was making a sound decision by selling my 360 in favor of a PS3 (since I didn't play many 360 exclusives anyway and I thought PS3 was more reliable). I guess I'll have to wait and see what happens.

I have both the 360 and a PS3. I like the PS3 better, and I also like the exclusives from Sony better than Microsoft.

God of War beats Halo everytime for me.

Playstation is more of an Action/Adventure system while the XBOX is mainly Sci-Fi shooters.

that's not really true though. Game preferences aside, both consoles offer franchises that cover a wide range of genres. Multiplatform titles also make up the majority of big games this generation.

Besides, two of the bigger ps3 exclusive franchises, Resistance and Killzone are sci fi shooters. Plus both of the Call of Duty games are in the top 10 of ps3 game sales as first person shooters. That's pretty much the same as the 360 with Halo, Gears, and both CoD's in the top 10 in game sales.

The only thing I REALLY miss about 360 is XBox Live. I don't know why, but I just enjoyed the online experience better on the 360. Other than that, I'm very happy with my PS3 and online is not awful IMHO.

I mainly play sports games, military shooters and the occasional action/adventure game (Ratchet for example, and I used to LOVE the Crash Bandicoot games). I used to like the music games like Rock Band and Guitar Hero but got frustrated with them after I couldn't even master "Hard" level on them, lol. I guess my fingers just aren't fast enough.

The 360 dosen't have that many quality Action/Adventure games. The 360 has more Shooters, they may not be good but they're there. 2017 Earth Defense Force anyone.....

I have both systems. I just stated my opinion, if you like Action/Adventure get a PS3. If you like Sci-Fi Shooters get a 360.

It's just my opinion. I didn't say it was a dead fact. I have both systems, so I'm not a fanboy.

I stated that opinion becasue I play mainly Action/Adventure games on my Playstation, and mainly Shooters on my Xbox.
