They were $150 if they worked, $90 if they didn't, but that was before the price-drop, so likely less now. Probably something like $120/$70 if I had to guess - if not even less.

I called today and was told $110 for the system. That's terrible.

Sony cut hardware down fast. The 360 is still at 65nm for both the cpu and gpu, at least until that slim comes out.

If you have a Set with HDMI, it should be HDMI all day every day.

Do you have a 50" or larger TV? If you do, the HDMI should help the image res + if you have 1080p, there are some games that were actually coded for it on the PS3.

Woo, just got my PS3 back! I'm restoring my data as we speak.

Funny thing, though... I think they actually gave me a brand new PS3. I see zero deficiencies and it was perfectly wrapped with its original stuff, and runs very quietly.

                Thanks, SCEA!

                  Nice score!

I gotta say i really love my ps3. With GOW3 /U2 / MGS4 for my single player, Nba 2k10 for my bball fix and CODMW2 for my online fix i'm in gaming heaven.

Not to mention the streaming of content from my cpu and blu ray. Just an awesome bit of equipment.

I'm thinking of buying a 2nd one if i can see any good deals.

Okay, now that I'm back home and it is restored, it is now asking me to rebuild the database, whatever that means... it's been doing it for over ten minutes not and is at 70%. Is this possibly because I had the Linux OS on there as well so it's just restructuring it? I hope I don't lose anything on here as a result is all.

EDIT: Okay, I restored it and my user data simply isn't there. This isn't good. I may have lost everything.

EDIT: Actually, not quite. It seems I have all of my saved data utility (don't know if it will work though) but none of my game data utility. It didn't save my background, any of my downloaded content, and all albums for photos and movies got screwed up as well. WTF!

Does that mean I'll have to re-rent Rock Band to get those songs back? This kind of **** pisses me off and makes me not trust restoring my data ever. Wow.

I haven't read much, so I have absolutely no idea if this is it. Just spitballing.

Linux OS was removed in a recent update, could that be it?

It could be, I have no idea. But this database rebuilding thing literally screwed with all of my info. I can't even log on anymore, lord knows why that would be.

I'm just going to reformat now, restore again, and see what happens. Who knows, maybe this time it won't ask to rebuild it and maybe it will all come back. If not, I'll just yell at Sony for giving me two faulty systems before having to resort to this. If all of my saved data is corrupted, I'm going to start ****ting bricks.

I mean literally anything I've ever downloaded... Rock Band songs, games, demos, trailers, anything... it's all gone and I'll have to re-download them. Thankfully the paid things are tied into my account, but do you have any idea how many installs I will have to go through? What a joke.

Hopefully Sony can do something, or you can get some PSN credit, or some type of compensation. I'd be livid if I were in your shoes.

is it actually gone though? Like you go to the system information and it confirms this by how much free space you now have? If that stuff is still on the HDD, you could just rebuild the database again, as it may have just messed up last time.
