I believe it's actually even more for those 2 games, ~60gb, but there's not too many games that are as big as GOW. It could still possibly work if users wanted to say install games between 5-10GB and just play those other games by disc.

Re: Official PS3 Discussion Part III...
So what? Even if you have the 80GB, you can put 2-4 of your primary games to assist with wear and tear. If you want to switch over.... delete them, add the new one, wash, rinse, repeat. Maybe if they had the capacity to do this, more people would be inclined to buy the more expensive 320GB machine ..... and from Sony's standpoint, isn't that a good business move?Comment

Sure. And the wear and tear of a 5 hour install of 30gbs of data (constant drive access) rinsed and repeated? Versus smaller random accesses with partial installs? And what about blu-ray watching?
People want to take steps to avoid failure in one mechanical device, but forget about another. My neighbor just had his 360 hard drive die on him. He installed his games. If it isn't one thing, it can be another.

Re: Official PS3 Discussion Part III...
You're right... I just want my games virtually beamed to my console by these alien life forms people keep hoping for. I mean, maybe it's not about them crushing our buildings and seeding their fields with our platlets. Jeez.... they should DO something for us already with all the press we give them!!

Re: Official PS3 Discussion Part III...
I was curious who here still has their fat 60gb ps3 from launch day or that year ?I miss mine so bad , never should of sold it .Now i own a 120gb slim and I miss playing the ps2 games like Metal Gear Solid and SSX games and a few others.Does any one think we will EVER see a patch by Song to allow the ps2 games again?I was also browsing the ps2 story and found that there was some sort of ps2 date patch on their and my cousin told that its only for ps3 systems that allow the ps2 but need a patch .Now why can't Sony make a full patch for the entire other ps3 systems out or start remaking the old games into perfect blu ray HD engines so we can enjoy them once again on next gen consoles .Any thought here guys ?Comment

They are remastering older games in HD for the PS3. They did for GoW, Sly, and PoP. They have ICO and SoC coming as well as MGS series and FF7.

But no SSX, GTA, or Power Pros. Plus you have to actually re-buy them all and restart if you had saves on your old games.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Our favorite PS2 games in HD with trophies = /Originally posted by Anthony BourdainThe celebrity chef culture is a remarkable and admittedly annoying phenomenon. Re: Official PS3 Discussion Part III...
All I'm saying is 49ersfan has a reason to be upset. He wants to play some games that he still owns, something that was available on a previous PS3 console.
If they had more games available and were able to transfer saves, I'd have no problem with this. But this isn't the case.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment
