Getting a new Slim.

I'm hoping Future Shop holds up with this 320GB Slim w/ Uncharted 2, ModNation Racers, Alice In Wonderland Blu-Ray and Blu-Ray remote for 299 and that it isn't sold out either. If I can't get that then I'm probably getting the Killzone 3 160GB bundle and Best Buy throws in a free Bioshock 2.

Also after I get the system BB has a 2 for 40 Greatest Hits deal, so I'm probably going to end up grabbing Heavy Rain and something else.

I just can't wait to finally make the switch to PS3. I've been waiting about a year to do it and now I finally can.

Either deal would be nice.
As far as the BB ad goes...that isn't all you can choose from is it? or is it ANY GH title?...if so I would also recommend Uncharted 1,from what I understand,the 2nd one has an entirely different story,so I wouldn't think you would need to play them in any order.

Since I've made the switch from the 360,I couldn't be happier,and don't regret my decision one bit. Having free online is really nice,and with the exception of not having private party chat,I cannot justify paying for live.

So I'm not sure if it's just those 6 games or not. I think it is and if that's the case then I'll probably just get that UC2 GOTY edition and buy UC1 later. I just won't play UC2 until I get UC1, lol.

Understandable about UC 1&2. When I got my PS3 a few weeks ago,I picked up UC 2 first....but since then I have picked up the first one.

God of War 3

M.A.G (even though I said I wasn't going to..)
And have pre-ordered and paid off Homefront,as well as pre-ordered Uncharted 3 and Battlefield 3.

I have a stand alone blu-ray player,so I don't have to use my PS3,but from what I understand,the PS3 is a damn nice blu-ray player.

I think something is going on with my hdmi either the cable is bad or the hdmi port on the ps3. I'm gonna check a new cord after work today, but has anyone ever heard of the hdmi ports going bad on the ps3?

There are some parts in 2 that look back on 1. Also there is some characture overlap you wouldn't really understand unless you played the first one. Speaking of Uncharted 2 just a few more trophies and I'll have the Platinum!

Congrats to everybody with new PS3's!! Have fun! The gaming is great but for me the overall functionality of the PS3 is where it shines. Wifi, Blu-Ray, netflix, etc.. you've all heard it before.

It only does everyt....ehh nm.

The system is getting power as all the lights on the ps are turned out like they always are. Most of the time its not doing anything and the tv is just a blank screen basically (like it would if you didnt have the correct cables pluged in). I have a surrond sound receiver and it has a HDMI flashing and I've never seen it do that. When I go back to my dish network it no longer flashes. Every once it a while it will go the main ps3 screen (i took the game out) and it just freezes instantly.

Well gf, nothing I've ever experienced so I'm sorry I can't be of any help. But I think you'e on the right track with going out and getting a new HDMI cord. I have heard of them going out, although never experienced it myself.

I'm sure you have already, but if not, have you tried "wiggling" the cable a little to see if you get any feedback on the screen? Or making sure they both ends were plugged in tightly? I imagine if you saw any type of cue on-screen when doing those that it would most definitely signify that your HDMI cable needs replacing.
