Re: Official PS3 Discussion Part III...
I am going to look for a cheap HDD soon to dump into the PS3, I am running out of room rather quickly. Since I use the PS3 as my primary system, this would make sense.
Kevin, which drive did you order again? What did it cost you?Last edited by CaptainZombie; 03-07-2009, 05:02 PM.Comment

Re: Official PS3 Discussion Part III...
Do you have any games that can't be backed up to a flashdrive? If it weren't for Rock Band, Guitar Hero: World Tour, and Skate 2 I would have just put my game saves on a flash drive and just copied them to the new hdd which would have been so easy. Because those three games cannot be backed up, I had to go the Backup Utility route.

Re: Official PS3 Discussion Part III...
So your computer is online but the PS3 isn't getting online? That's weird cause it sounds like you have it hooked up right. I use a router instead of a hub coming from my cable modem, so I don't know if that's what the problem was. My brother was having a problem once getting his PS3 online when he was splitting a connection like you are. If his cpu was online, he couldn't go online with his PS3, it was weird, and I don't know how he eventually fixed it but he did. Try turning off your computer and seeing if your PS3 goes online then? If that doesn't work, try plugging your PS3 in straight from the modem just to make sure your PS3 can get online like that.
He helped me through the network settings and stuff and it still does not work. So he said that I need to call my ISP because everything is hooked up correctly and everything is fine on their end. The ISP has to either upgrade the modem that I use or change the IP address. So I'll give them a call and if they fix it, then fine, if not I'll buy a router and try that.
Thanks to those who helped me!CP: MLB The Show 11; BLOPS; UC 2.

Re: Official PS3 Discussion Part III...
If someone could help me set up my PS3 for online I'd appreciate it. I'm setting it up using a Ethernet cord. Since my cable modem only has one slot for a Ethernet cord I purchased a Ethernet hub which allows me to have 5 more Ethernet slots.
I followed the instructions Sony gave me on Sony.com, but my PS3 still does not read that it has a connection when it should. I have three Ethernet cords. One goes for the back of my cable modem to the hub.
The other goes from the back of my PC to another slot on the hub and the third goes from my PS3 to the hub. I am online now and everything is running smoothly. I just can't get my PS3 to read that there is a connection. When I open the browser on my PS3 it says something along the lines of "page cannot be viewed. go to settings > network settings and check your settings".
If someone could help I'd really appreciate it. Thanks.
otherwise u can only get one ip address from the modem, which means u have turn ur modem on and off again if u want to play ur ps3 and again to get your pc to work.Kenny: Ok Vic, I'm ready for some girl on girl action.
Vic: No Kenny, that's girl versus girl.
Kenny: What's the difference?
Vic: Well, in one, one girl wins. In the other....
Kenny: Everyone wins?!?!

Re: Official PS3 Discussion Part III...
my burnout save is fine. You just have to make sure your trophies are synced to the server before you change harddrives.
