Regardless of a diamond encrusted Blue-Ray player being inside, the PS3 is still outrageously priced for a GAME MACHINE.

Let's see how much money I need to cough up just to buy the cheapest version, and MLB The Show 08.

-$400 machine
-$60 HDMI cable (What? The only "true HD machine" doesn't come HD out of the box? FU!)
-$60 The Show 08
-$55 DS3 controller (If you want to play the game the way it was meant to be played, then yes it's a necessity. How are you going to hide your pitch location if it weren't for rumble? You can't. Hey dude, look away - I'm locating my pitch)

TOTAL: $575 + 7% AZ sales tax = $615.25 to play my game.

"But it has Blue-Ray!!" So? I'm trying to play a game. Sure I want one, but no way in hell can I afford one. The total cost of bringing home a proper HD set with 1 game is over 4 months of car payments.

You added an unnecessary $115. Possibly more.

I'm a 360 owner, but I'm considering getting a ps3. The "it has no games," argument is starting to get really old. I'm sick of all of my xbox's breaking. At least I won't have to worry about that with a ps3.

It's definitely a great complimentary system. Whether or not it can hold its own for you is really dependent on how big you value online play, IMO.

Dont jinx urself. the ps3 has been known to breakdown... obviously nowhere near as often as the 360 though.

I have both, and paid about the same for both. I like both systems but it does seem a little less care was put into one of the pieces of hardware. You can decide which one that is.

i just recently bought a ps3, and while the 360's break, and you may not be able to play a game, there just is no games that i want to play on the ps3 right now today. The game i been playing on the ps3 is God of War 2, which you got it, isnt even a ps3 game. There there is 1 game i may pick up and thats uncharted, but still, 1-2 games total?

If you enjoy God of War, I have no idea how you can ignore Heavenly Sword. Just as equally good and if you haven't played it through, you've really missed out.

I don't get it. While it may have been true last year at this time regarding the scarcity of games exactly what will you be playing this year on the 360 that you can't play on the PS3. All the sports games and GTA are multi platform and the one sports game that isn't is the best one of them all (MLB the Show) which is PS3. Gran Turismo Prologue is still gonna be great online even though it's not a full game. So what do we have for the 360? Gears of War 2? Another wretched Halo game that is recycled over and over? Even Resistance 2 is looking better than that with 64 player matches online and based on Ratchett and Clank it may have the best graphics to date. Did we forget MGS4 and Killzone 2?

Not only is the PS3 a much better built system and future proof, based on 2008 alone it will have a better library of games and 2009 looks even better with the new God of War, a full Gran Turismo and Uncharted 2.

I could never knock Gears of War. Fantastic game and one my favorites on the 360, easily. Highly anticipating a sequel.

Oh no I'm not knocking it because I loved that game too but the point was that it is really the only game that is a top drawer 360 exclusive that the 360 boys can brag about. I am a little pissed that I won't be playing the sequal but I would rather put hot coals on my testes than waste money on another 360. Halo is another story altogether. Now there's an overrated franchise I'm not gonna miss one bit.

actually, I own more games for the ps3 than I had 360's with the RROD.

I miss Live and some of the early exclusive 3rd party games, but it's great to have a system that hasn't lost my confidence yet. I've read about some bluray drives failing, and it hasn't happened to me. I did have 3 xbox 360's die in less than a year though. You either have to buy a $60 warranty from Best Buy each time for your new swapped console, or deal with MS's B.S. customer service to get a new one. I've done both, and they are annoying.

I am considering the PS3. I am looking at the 80GB/MGS4 bundle coming in June. That would be good timing - right after the tax rebate this May.
The main thing that's stopping me from getting a 3rd console is I don't even have enough time to play all the great games for the 360 and Wii.
I don't want or need the blu-ray. With about a hundred DVD's on the shelf collecting dust, my movie buying days are over

To say the 360 doesn't have any good games outside of GOW & HALO is a The 360 has some great games exclusive to that system.(Not counting PC) Games like:

Lost Odyssey
Mass Effect
Blue Dragon
FORZA
PGR
Splinter Cell Series
Alan Wake
Banjoo
Bioshock

There is no doubt that the ps3 right now @ $399.99 is a great deal, but BR Playback right now is the big seller, with games being 2nd. There's no doubt the PS3 will begin to make way in the fall with it's exclusives, but as of right now they really have no EXCLUSIVES that has people going crazy about getting a PS3. GTA might be the-1 that begins the trend, but again it's not an EXCLUSIVE

FOOLS pay $60 for any kind of cables to hook up a console. I paid $20 for my HDMI cables at Sam's Club and you can find cheaper cables online.
