i am really really happy with the ps3 and xbox360

for people saying oh other then the blu ray player we wouldnt buy a ps3...thats like saying i wouldnt buy a xbox other then halo or xbox live....

systems have there pros and cons

but i really dont think i could live without the sony exclusives in gaming and there new ip's they get they just seem really innovative on games.

ps3 gets a slight nod for me this generation

For me the 360 wins hands down because I like playing with my friends at OS online, and 99% of people here play on 360.

I feel the PS3 is a better system hardware wise, and like having mine around for the Blu-Ray, but it mostly collects dust except for exclusives.

Plus Live has Netflix streaming, that's a pretty great feature. Live is worth the 50 bucks a month, the online experience is infinitely better than PSN in my opinion.

If all my OS buddies had PS3 I'd have no issue using that as my primary console though.

All Sony needed to do was add backwards compatibility to the PS3, but NO, they added a Blue-Ray player instead, I rather have backwards compatibility on my ps3 than blue-ray anyday of the week, I don't need a Blue-Ray. My DVD player plays movies for me, or i just go to the movie theater with my gf. Blue-Ray wasn't necesary for the ps3 model

You have to be joking. You can get a ps2 for less than $100 if it was that big of a deal for you.

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)

What? Thats a hige selling point. Just because you don't like it, that doesn't make it a bad addition.

You seem to have an issue with this, so I will post what I posted in the last thread where you said something similar.

Sony is not putting Backwards Compatability in because they are still moving PS2s. I would think they are having success with this, because they have not put BC back in yet.

NO FANBOY TALK: Look how many types of models that came out. 20gb, 40gb, 60gb, 80gb, 120gb, 160gb, did they come with the backward play? None of them came out with GOOD backwards compatibility. I like sony, but sony better get a grip, because their behind in the console race

I don't know who this was directed at, but I see no fanboy talk.

Also, sony has a "grip", if they weren't making money they wouldn't be doing it this way.

If it wasn't for the Microsoft poor R&D (aka Ring of Death), Xbox 360 would have been so far ahead of PS3, nothing Sony could have did would have matter. I love my PS3, I'm glad I bought it. But with Netflix and 1 vs 100, MS have done some things right. Now they need to make a install your own HDD kit. Sell a shell and the formatting software and let us install our own hdds. Then you won't have to worry about memory space when you download digital content.

Well that will never happen, but one can dream.

                              Price.

You can rent a movie at the PSN for $2-3 or you can watch same movie plus many more and TV shows as well for a $9 monthly subscription.

I don't always want to go out and pick up a movie. Sometimes I just want to watch something random when I'm bored, and Netflix on the 360 gives me a huge library of stuff.

I've watched MacGyver at 3am when I wasn't tired and it was great...Since I'm all ready a Netflix member it's just free to me...if I wanted to get into Lost I could watch it free without having to rent a crapload of discs.
