I can't bring myself to come back to them once i've finished them and know how the story ends. Maybe it's because i couldn't care less about trophies as well so i never go back to them for that purpose.

I'm like that with most things though, i rarely watch movies more than 1 or 2 times and i've only ever read 1 book more than once (my fav book The Power of One by Bryce Courtney) so i guess i just like things more when they are "fresh" and new.

If I'm interested in it enough to buy it then I'll play it multiple times.

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)

Does anyone ever actually go back and play through their single player only games again once they have beaten them?
Almost never. I'd rather play something else. Even a game I think I might eventually get back to I will usually sell or trade. I can always buy it again for much less. For example, Oblivion I sold for $40, then later on picked up the GOTY for $20.

Yea because the next title comes out and you move on to it, then another and another and another. I know my big thing is lack of time. I work all day and have MAYBE a hour a night to sit down and play. So normally I choose a sport title because a game normally last around a hour. Then the weekends, I generally spend time with my single player stuff because I have more time to knock out stuff. For instance I am very close to beating Darksiders. But outside of that, I am to busy trying to beat titles I have not beat yet, than to go through games I already beat.

That's exactly how I play. I don't ever want to boot up Heavy Rain or a story based title during the week night because I invariably end up staying up way too late and it's tough the next day to get up early. So I either don't play during the week or else I play a sports game which is "an hour and done". Then on Friday/Saturday I tackle the story based titles like Heavy Rain.

I guess my thing is I watch tv more during the week because it's easily controlled time-wise plus there is very little thinking in tv since it's passive, whereas in games you have to figure out things. I spend all day at work figuring out things so I really am not up for it when I get home.

Oh yea Dogg, I can relate to that. I spend all day working with clients and racking my brain. When I get home I like to pour me a drink, wind down, and relax with a game of The Show 10. But I am not in the mind set to put my brain to another work out and solve all kind of puzzles.

Take last night for instance, I got home late. Made me a bloody mary and went sit down and played a game of The Show 10. It is a good slow paced game and was perfect type of game to wind down.

Re: Guilt, gaming and the "too many games" syndrome

You're right, the Show is a classic example of what type of game I play after work (if I play one). I used to have a roommate who played games every night but he was a construction worker so all day long he used his muscles and then in the evening he was really ready to use his brain.

Maybe this all explains why I like reality TV. It's the ultimate non-thinking TV, LOL

I'm exactly like you two. Sports games or just tv during the week to relax, SP games on the weekend if i have some decent amout of time free.

I like multi-player games like MW as well but i find i can get too engrossed in them (especially things like Spec ops when playing with a friend) and don't go to bed til late then getting up at 5am is brutal.

Re: Guilt, gaming and the "too many games" syndrome

I am glad that this gaming onslaught is almost over for the next two months for me come next week. I have been very good for sometime and haven't bought as much as I used to years ago. Since Feb, damn is what I will say. I picked up Heavy Rain (did a few trade-ins), Army of Two (got this cheap), The Show, FFXIII (took adv of 50% off at Gamestop), and Battlefield 2. Next week is God of War 3.............I'm going doozy.

I think I should be very good here until May when wave 2 of titles starts. I am glad to have finished Heavy Rain and was close on AO2, but had to start all over due to the stupid ps3 save system.

Probably going to skip NCAA 11, I didn't buy 10 til it had been out for 4 months. And that was the last sports game franchise I actually supported.

There is UFC2010, Mario Galaxy 2, Lost Planet 2, Red Dead Redemption, and Backbreaker to name a few. I think I am only getting UFC, Red Dead and Galaxy 2.

Just UFC10 for me. Red Dead Redemption looks great however, after playing playing Heavy Rain, I realized that I'm growing a little tired of the GTA's and Assassins Creed type games. So, I'll probably skip RDR and wait for NCAA 11, then Madden. After that I'll probably pick up a few games in October when Toy's R Us has their buy 2 get 1 free sale.
