Re: Guilt, gaming and the "too many games" syndrome
So far The Show 10 is the only new game I've bought all year. Only because I spent the first 2-3 months playing NBA 2K10 and Assassins Creed II. I've been having a fantastic time with The Show and I was trying to hold out until the new UFC game drops next week but, after reading some impressions about Red Dead Revolver my interest is peaked to say the least. I'm going out of town this weekend so, I really only have a few nights until UFC is released. Should I go ahead and pick up RDR and have a log jam of good games or should I just be patient and pick it up later? My 2K17 Boston Celtics MyLeague

I'd say hold out and just get UFC (since I believe that's the game you've been looking forward to). You can always grab RDR later on. That said, I'll be free roaming in Red Dead tonight!Originally posted by J. ColeFool me one time that's shame on you. Fool me twice can't put the blame on you. Re: Guilt, gaming and the "too many games" syndrome
Well I am glad I got Red Dead Redemption, that's for sure! With that being said, since I got a girlfriend I really don't have much time at all for gaming at all. But i'm not complaining about that!Streaming PC & PS5 games, join me most nights after 6:00pm ET on TwitchTV https://www.twitch.tv/shaunh20

Yeah, I'm getting UFC (have RDR now, awesome game) and just gonna let that ride for a bit. Almost done with Splinter Cell from GF, and still have GOW3 from GF (may just send that back, fun game but wasn't grabbing me at the time)Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

Re: Guilt, gaming and the "too many games" syndrome
I'm holding out on RDR for now, I want to see if people are still playing it a few weeks from now.
Other than that...not much right now. I have a few PSP titles on the radar, MGS Peace Walker being the closest).Comment

I have no doubt people will still be playing RDR probably in 6 months at least since it's such a huge, open-ended sandbox game that you can play online.Streaming PC & PS5 games, join me most nights after 6:00pm ET on TwitchTV https://www.twitch.tv/shaunh20

Re: Guilt, gaming and the "too many games" syndrome
Yeah i think RDR will probably tide me over until the new batch of nba games come out.
I just finished GOW3 last night (pretty epic game!) and i'm going to swap that for Assassins Creed 2 with a buddy of mine so i'll have RDR, AC3 and nba 2k10 to keep me going for a long while. Might have to get UFC10 down the track but i mainly just play that when friends are over and they aren't big gamers so i doubt they would even notice the difference between the old game and the new one.Comment

Re: Guilt, gaming and the "too many games" syndrome
RDR is dominating my console right now. Which kind of sucks because a month ago I shelled out 60 for 2010 World Cup, and last week I did the same for Skate 3. And I just bought Tony Hawk 2 on my iPod Touch and I kind of want to beat that. And I still want to play The Show.
All these great games at once sounds cool, but it's pretty uncool.Member: OS Uni Snob Association | Twitter: @MyNameIsJesseG | #WT4M | #WatchTheWorldBurn

Re: Guilt, gaming and the "too many games" syndrome
I'm in a tough spot...got UFC Undisputed 10 on pre-order and really want that game but I'm sooo tempted to cancel it and pick up Red Dead Redemption.
I think I can hold off on RDR for a while but I just don't know lol...decisions, decisions...Patrick Mahomes > GodComment

Re: Guilt, gaming and the "too many games" syndrome
I've actually done extremely well this year. Only purchased two games, Mass Effect 2 and MLB 2k10.
I might pick up the new Tiger or last year's Tiger next month depending on money, get NCAA Football in July, and then Halo: Reach and Red Dead Redemption in the fall to complete 2010.Comment

Re: Guilt, gaming and the "too many games" syndrome
I had planned to get quite a few games, Final Fantasy, Uncharted, GoW3, etc. but the only game I've gotten so far was Mass Effect 2 (wait, I bought Shadow Complex on XBL which I loved but never finished) and it took me nearly 2 months to finish. I very rarely turn on my 360 these days and discontinued XBL service. When I tun on my PS3 it's either to watch a movie I have on my computer's hard drive or watch a Netflix movie. The only game I have for my PS3 is MGS4, and I got that last year for free from Steve. MGS is in my top two of all time favorite series (along with Mass Effect) and I never finished it.
There have been a lot of games I think would be interesting to play but lately when it comes down to it, the motivation just isn't there. It almost seems like a chore for me to start up a game these days. I'll think about playing games all the time, I just, don't. RDR looks good, and for the past couple of days I've been trying to make myself go get it, or maybe something else, but I know it'll just end up collecting dust in a day or so. Maybe things will change once NCAA11 releases.PS: You guys are great.

Re: Guilt, gaming and the "too many games" syndrome
It's funny you say that trobinson, i'm the same way, it seems gaming is so involving that you often don't feel "up for it". At the end of a long day I'm not so sure I want an intense, involving experience. I usually just want a very sedate and mind numbing television experience. Most all of my gaming is on the weekend when I can play games for hours with a few adult beverages.Streaming PC & PS5 games, join me most nights after 6:00pm ET on TwitchTV https://www.twitch.tv/shaunh20

Re: Guilt, gaming and the "too many games" syndrome
So far this year I have bought:
Darksiders (360)
Bayonetta (360)
Final Fantasy XIII (JP) (PS3)
Divinity II (360)
Mass Effect 2 (360)
MAG (PS3)
White Knight Chronicles (PS3)
And I also plan to get in the next 60 days:
BioShock 2 (360)
Dante's Inferno (360)
Star Ocean 4 International (PS3)
Napoleon Total War (PC)
Heavy Rain (PS3)
Battlefield 2: Bad Company (360)
Silent Hunter 5 (PC)
Final Fantasy XIII International (PS3)
God of War 3 (PS3)
Yakuza 3 (PS3)
Just Cause 2 (360)
That's gonna be a lot of money on games.
I did however get Nier, MLB 10 The Show, 3D Dot Game Heroes, Monster Hunter 3 Tri. Splinter Cell: Conviction, Red Dead Redemption and Alan Wake. I'm going to get Alpha Protocol next and I'll probably be done with buying games til Mafia and Dead Rising II come out.
I'm most likely going to skip NCAA 11 or at least hold off on it for a few months. I think doing the rosters for that game 3 years in a row burnt me out on it. i simply just can't enjoy the game anymore. I buy them mainly for collector's value as I have every NCAA from 98-10 so far.Oklahoma State Cowboys 2011 Big XII Champions, 2012 Fiesta Bowl Champions
