I try that and do fairly well with my "non-sports games" doing this, it is the sports games and leagues that mess me up. NCAA 13 league game, then NHL 13 hockey league, then Madden 13 franchise, etc.

Currently I am working on beating Farcry 3, The Walking Dead (I'm in Ep3), and Spec Ops the Line

Spec Ops and what you have left of Walking Dead shouldnt take you to long to complete so you should be able to knock them out in a few sit downs.

That's why this year for the first time ever I am in only 1 league...

Re: Guilt, gaming and the "too many games" syndrome

I've got SO many games that I've opened, threw into the gaming shelf and then never touched.. Can't help myself on games that I'm semi-interested in that I catch at a $10-15 price tag.. Just wish there was more time in the day to play stuff.. And then seems like when I want to play something, there's always something on TV that I want to watch.. Really thinking about getting a monitor just for gaming but I'm not sure where I'd put it.. I also attribute not playing my games as much due to the introduction of achievements and my OCD/ADD.. I hardly like starting on games that have a reasonably attainable 1000/1000 or platinum trophy because I know I won't be able to move onto something else until I get it.. I'm a perfectionist and completionist and don't like having unfinished stuff on games.. In a way, I think that that has almost killed my joy and love for games because it feels like more of a chore or job than fun.. If I could break the OCD and make myself stop caring about achievements so much then I'd have much more fun with my games and ultimately play through more of them..

Re: Guilt, gaming and the "too many games" syndrome

I really need to do some housecleaning with my gaming library. Too many games and nowhere near enough time to play them. During the week, I barely turn on my PS3 or 360. I'll be doing some travel for work in the next couple of months, so I'll probably trade in my excess 360/PS3 games for some Vita or DS games.

                Here's my "keeper" games:
                MLB 12 The Show (PS3/Vita)
                Madden 13 (Vita)
                NBA 2K13
                NHL 13
                MLB 11 The Show
                MLB 10 The Show
                Jak & Daxter Collection (PS3)
Metal Gear Solid HD Collection (PS3/Vita)
Hot Shots Golf: World Invitational (Vita)
                Virtua Tennis 4 (Vita)
                Assassain's Creed III (Vita)
                Rayman Origins (Vita)
                Zero Escape (Vita)
                Hotel Dusk (DS)
                Last Window (DS)
Grand Theft Auto Chinatown Wars (DS)
                Mario Kart (DS)
Mario & Luigi Bowser's Inside Story (DS)
                999 (DS)
LEGO Star Wars The Complete Saga (DS)
Professor Layton and the Curious Village (DS)

                "Bubble" games (could be traded)
NCAA 13 (PS3) (still have 12 and 11 as backup options)
Madden 13 (360) (APF 2K8 and Madden 10 are backups)
Tiger Woods PGA 13 (360) (haven't played in months)
FIFA Soccer (Vita) (like it, but no sliders is a bummer and haven't played it much lately)

                "Trades"
Batman Arkham City (haven't touched it in months)
WWE 13 (no long-term value for me)
Uncharted: Golden Abyss (getting digital copy with PS Plus)
                Gravity Rush (same as above)

So, potentially 8 games to trade in. I really don't know if, outside of MLB 13 The Show, if I'll buy any games this year, and even then, I think I'll wait for all the patches for MLB to be released before buying, as I'm still enjoying my 12 franchise.
                Currently Playing:
                MLB The Show 25 (PS5)

Re: Guilt, gaming and the "too many games" syndrome

I had nearly two weeks off during the holidays and swore I was going to get in some good gaming time. Didn't happen. My biggest issue has been Madden and breaking my cardinal rule of not touching sliders. I've tweaked and tested settings too much. Starting my dynasty tomorrow on default All-Pro. If I go 16-0, I go 16-0.

                  My current library:
                  • NBA 2K13: Got it for Christmas; haven't started my dynasty yet. Plan to soon.
                  • Madden 13: Starting tomorrow.
                  • MLB 12: Finished one season playing every game. That will probably be it with MLB 13 on the horizon.
                  • Batman Arkham Asylum: Need to finish this so I can start Arkham City. I'm only about 40 percent through.
                  • Batman Arkham City: Bought the GOTY edition last May, but haven't even started it.
                  • Dead or Alive 5: Not concerned if I don't unlock everything.
                  • Gran Turismo 5: Got this last February; have barely played it.
                  • COD 4, MW: Trying to finish single player mode.
                  • MW2: Haven't even touched single-player mode, and it's three years old.
                  • MW3: Ditto
                  • Soul Calibur 4: See DOA 5.
                  • Hot Shots Golf Out of Bounds: Love this game. Still trying to unlock everything nearly five years later.
                  • WWE All-Stars: Everything is unlocked.
                  • F1: Got this when I got my PS3 nearly six years ago. Have barely played it.

                  On the horizon:
MLB 13 and Tomb Raider. Those may be it until Madden 14 and NBA 2K14.

After that many games you have to start losing track. You probably just start buying them over again, lol.

There are so many games over the years I have bought and never completed, just to trade them in for the next hottest release, same pattern over and over... I made a promise to myself that I would not buy a new game until I finish the one I am playing. Well I bought Far Cry 3 and a few days later got Sleeping Dogs, but.. that's only because Sleeping Dogs was on sale for $34 bucks. I just finished Far Cry 3 last weekend and I am working on Sleeping Dogs now. Next up will probably be Heavy Rain and Journey.

Funny, I haven't played a game for approx 2 months or so. Even then, it was just using the CAW feature of WWE13. I've not "played" a game since Sleeping Dogs dropped. Yet I've bought games. Doesn't make sense.

I think I'm literally "out" of gaming. It's quite sad really.

If I didn't trade in games after I complete them I would be somewhere around that. Impressive collection Val! That has to me around 400 games right?
