I have a question. My Xbox 250GB is coming anyday now from Best Buy and I was wondering, are the HDMI and AV connectors spaced far enough apart now to have both in at the sametime? What I want to do is have my HDMI go into my TV for picture, but us the AV cables for sound into my receiver so the sound comes out of my speakers.

If anyone could answer this it would be appreciated

No its not. I use that extra cord that I got from Gamestop that cost $1.99 for my connection to my reciever. I use HDMI for my video connection. I know exactly what you are talking about that Microsoft made the connection to close. Do not go spend $40 for this piece new as it is again $1.99 used.

What is this cable called/ look like that you mentioned in this post?

If you have the Microsoft HDMI cable then it comes free with it.

Atomic I don't remember what its called but it used to be packaged with the Elites when they 1st came out a couple of years ago. The piece is about 8-10 inches long and one end you can plug the red/white cord to the reciever and the other into the 360.

Like in my previous post be careful because you can buy it new at Gamestop for $40 and some Gamestops won't even tell you about the used for $2. Sorry I can't remember the name

So what's the definition of whisper quiet? I got my 250GB Xbox today and was wondering what whisper quiet should sound like? I'm installing my games to the HD but was wondering if it should sound like the old 360 model but just a bit quieter, or should you not be able to hear it unless you're up close.

If you bought the new 360 slim it comes with one already (a black one). Hopefully you already have an HDMI cable, then you can connect both I believe. I use the fiber optic audio output myself, on my PS3 and my new slim 360.

The system is much more quiet when you install the game to the HDD.

If you are using the Red & White RCA plugs for sound out of your Xbox then you are really missing out.

The fiber optic audio? Yes I am using the one built into the new 360 slim, I also use the one on my PS3.

If you have a surround sound setup and your receiver has an input for this, or better yet most new flat screen HD tv's as well have one on the back, use it.

The sound is a million times better.
