Got a question for you guys. I just ordered my transfer cable from ebay($7.00). It will take about 7-10 days to get in. Now my question is this. I have been playing games on the slim such as UFC 2010, Red Dead multiplayer, and backbreaker. On my old 20 gig questions I have save files such as my Red Dead singleplayer save file. When I transfer over my data from the old HD to the new slim HD will it over write things such as patches? Also, will it over write save games that I currently have on the new HD?

Just a question, don't think I am explaining it the way I want. But just wanting to see if any data I put on the new HD, if it will get over written once I transfer over my old data.

So what's the best way to transfer files over? USB ? Didn't someone say you could keep your harddrive so you can transfer to your new 360 and then take it to Gamestop?

Just use a usb flash drive. It transfers everything over, saves, rosters and everything... I think you might have to repatch but im not sure. I know Red Dead is asking me for an update but I never remember it being patched so that might just be me.

The usb transfer is easy man, I'd send that transfer cable back

I used a 4gig stick and it took all of about 3 min to take from 1 360 to the next. I re-installed my games on the new 360 first then applied the saves

Funny thing I did it with 2 different systems.

I havent even transferred anything off the 2gb usb stick I have and it still works as if I never moved anything.

Trust me thats all you need.

Trust me 23, if I could I would. I have the flash drive but I don't have the old 360. I traded in my old 360 to get the new slim. So I have a new slim and a old 20 gig HD. So there is no way for me to use a flash drive. I HAVE to go the transfer cable route.

Thanks man, that helps. Prevents me from starting any games until the cable arrives. I will continue just playing online games.

If the system is horizontal, it's safe to say that the heat will be coming out from the vents facing upwards, right? I don't have a lot of space for ventilation left w/ the PS3, 360, cable box, etc, so as long as the top vent has 8" or so above it, would that suffice? Or do I simply need to clear out some more space?

To be safe, I'd give to top and the side ample breathing room. That's just me though.

This totally feels like a whole new console launched. I will probably be making the old for new swap in a couple weeks.

I'm going to have to figure something out then. I just started it up for the first time, downloading the Netflix app, and a few demos to play while waiting on some games. Thing is slick. I was hoping for a new dashboard though, lol.

got my new 360 today, wont be hooking it up until I get my new set that I bought to replace my PC monitor I had my original xbox hooked up to.


Wanted an LCD TV to game on, so I bought a 32 in LCD to be used as my PC monitor and my gaming Set.

Looked in the box, very sweet.

I have my 32" samsung hung from the ceiling with this

Then under that is my 22" samsung monitor

So pretty much I have a corner desk, with a 22" monitor. Which runs my PC games. Then above that is the 32" LCD which is hung from the ceiling that I run my PS3 and 360 through. Pure gaming center. I like keeping my PC monitor separate so I can browse the web when gaming if needed.

that is not true. no free live sub in my box for the new slim!!

You have to create the account on your Xbox, and after you go passed the paid options for gold LIVE, then it says you eligible for 1 month of live free
