That is strange 23. I sit literally 2 feet max from mine and I can't hear a thing. I literally have to put my ear near it to hear it. Now the power brick I hear a slight buzz and it much louder when you get close.

It sounds like a imbalanced fan to me. But i would swap it.

I did... they went and grabbed one from the back. I told the guy I was having issues with the fan.. Hope this one is the same as Im hearing from everyone else..but yep, as soon as a game started in that one it immediately went into "unnnnnnnnnn mode" you know that deep fan sound... weird indeed but even that was still more quiet than the old systems

Guess Ill report back later to let you know how it goes

I bought one today lol.


Between my new slim and my older PS3 (the bigger shiny one) they both attract dust like crazy. (I put up a pic of them both a page or so back, that setup is a damn dust magnet lol).

Just turned it on and popped in Red Dead

Whether im playing or with it paused, the fan is making a buzzing noise for sure

Im about 8 feet away from it... I have no sound on anywhere in the room, and all I hear is uuuuuuuuunnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn


Other than that I can tell it would be about the same noise level as my PS3 which is very minimal. Maybe ill let them know something is wrong with the fan

BTW, did any of you guys notice some games on your HDD already like pinball and peggle? I didnt buy this stuff but its on my HDD

Yep, they always add some of these games on new consoles.

Yep, just as bad as the PS3. Not even 12 hours in and I already had to clean it. Still looks badass though.

Man 23 I can't hear a thing from mine. The first thing my son did when he saw me playing was to go see if it was the usual jet engine and he could not believe it made no noise. Hopefully yours is all good but mine is Whisper quiet

Same here with mine too, its ultra quiet.

I guess it depends on your definition of whisper quiet. I can hear it if I turn off the noise and the room is quiet... but barely. To me that's good enough. It has to be make some kind of noise.
