No tax at Amazon. Saves me about $25 at least.

I would say no, but it depends on how many Sony ships. Latest Media Create numbers for Vita out of Japan aren't great (PSV - 72K, 3DS - 482K), but there's no software that really appeals to Japan, and the 3DS is much cheaper and has Monster Hunter. The launch lineup for the west is very appealing, but the handheld market isn't the same due to Smartphones, and the device is releasing during a weak shopping month. iPad 3 could draw attention away from the Vita launch too. I think it will do okay, but I also think missing the holidays in NA and EU was a mistake.

I would say no, but it depends on how many Sony ships. Yeah Flaw good points there, sales numbers in Japan are looking pretty bad for Week 2. Plus I still think that the $249/$299 price tag will hurt them out the gate. This thing should of been $199/$249. Sony should take a look at the issue it caused Nintendo with the 3DS. A lot of things I've read on forums is people saying they can just go get the PS3 for that price tag. If the minority thinks that way on forums, could the general public be thinking the same way?

Even worse now is that Nintendo is in a even bigger mess with that darn second analog stick add-on which is Gamestop exclusive. Not sure what they were thinking by not adding that second stick in the first place. Granted sales for the 3DS have picked up quite a bit with the price drop to $169 and then add the $25-$50 gift cards some places were giving with the system the last 2 months.


Vita Sales Plummet In Second Week

The PlayStation Vita racked up decent sales numbers in its first two days on store shelves (attracting 321,407 buyers), but couldn't beat out its PSP predecessor in its second week. Sales data listed by 4gamer shows the Vita only sold 72,479 units, whereas the PSP reached 101,121 consumers.

Both of these machines were crushed by 3DS' impressive 482,200 units (57.2 percent). The Wii (81,179 units) and PS3 (75,943 units) also sold more than Vita.

The decline in sales is worrisome, but not out of character for a new system launch. The 3DS also ran into slow sales in its first year. After a price drop and offering games people want to play, look at it now.

I look at this way, the system is only 2 weeks now, there aren't that many games out yet, once the games start rolling out I think this will all change, The vita is very powerful to really push hand held gaming to the next level IMO. I wouldn't be nervous at all with all the great write up"s the Vita has been receiving I think this thing is here for the long hall.

Did I read that you can do local play sync'ed to your PS3 too? Or am I imagining things?

Mine has been pre-ordered for months now, ever since I first heard about it. I'm not a big Uncharted fan though. I think I'm going to go with FIFA and maybe ModNation Racers at launch.

Once the Show is released and games like Madden and NBA 2K can be synced, it's on.
