Yet more reasons why it boggles my mind that they didn't converge this and the ps phone.

Not everyone wants a phone too. Same reason there are iPod touches AND phones. I have an iPhone already, so making this a phone only would lose customers like me, because no way in hell am I ditching my iPhone.

Honestly, doing this as a psp phone only option would be a terrible idea.

What I mean is do it like the iPhone/iPod touch, same device one with a cell phone radio, one without.

damn with the more information i see the more legit and good its sounding i just hope for the price that is competitive and i will surely buy it and use it for playing games and putting music on it instead of the ipod.

i just hope sony doesnt overprice it

i thought the 3ds was going to own the psp2 a couple months ago but now it seems pretty competitive....depending on price , battery life , games

Should I wait for this thing or just go with a psp 3000 or something of the sort?

I would definitely hold out to see more info on this thing. Especially when the announcement of it will make for a price drop on the current PSPs.

Have a few "inside sources", and one said this thing is a "beast", very powerful.

Supposedly the announcement is coming within the next few days, so I say just hold off for at least this week or so.

Dre, the announcement is coming on Thursday 1/27.......I would just wait to see what is going on with their PSP line. Some rumors are saying its the PSP2, others are saying its going to be a redesigned PSP or possibly both will be mentioned. I'm waiting to hear an announcement before jumping on a 3000 as I have tons of PS1 classics and mini's sitting on my PS3 + a few titles released from last fall that I'm itching to play.

You might as well wait until Thursday to see the announcement, but after that I'd still pick one up. You can get a 3000 for $149 at a lot of places right now. I'll tell you, it's worth that price for both GoW's alone. Awesome, awesome games.

Well my B-day isnt til next month anyway. My wife was going to get me another ipod, probably the new 64gb since I have an older gen 8gb, but i told her I didnt want another one.

I do use the thing every day, and the battery doesnt last as long anymore, but i use it everyday lol... Im not very... well I dont need to have 2 ipods but in this case, i could still use the psp for games, movies and music as well.

My little one broke the stick off the original psp I still have it too, but I dont use it. Was told I could buy another controller, but eh.. maybe ill just use that as a DL movie player as well at some point who knows.

Anyway, I cant really think of anything I want so this may be it and cheaper than that ipod as well.

You can easily replace the AS on the PSP.

There are plenty of places that offer to do it also for a small fee. There has to be at least a handful of places in LA that do this.

Im sure of it.. I just haven't gone to any. At the time it happened which was long ago I didnt know that so I just used it to watch umd movies, but then I got an ipod and it was game over

The touch screen in the back is the same size as the OLED screen on the front, meaning you can touch anywhere in the back and get similar reactions in the front.
