I like the idea of being able to possibly continue games from your PS3 onto this device. I will still keep my PSP 2000 since I have a ton of UMD movies for it and use it quite a bit when traveling.

I'm looking forward to see sports games running on this. Man the thought that we can be getting near PS3 quality versions of sports games on this portable and that it has a second analog which is desperately needed has me excited.

This portable can't come out soon enough .

I know. Some rumors I was reading earlier are pegging this around late November or early December. I just want to hear price, but I bet we have to wait till E3 for that. The only other thing is the internal storage capacity hopefully will be there if you want to store movies, etc.

Sony: NGP 3G Capability is Optional

Andrew House, president of SCEE, has stated that Sony's newly announced 3G capable device will actually have the option of forgoing said 3G. While Wi-Fi has been confirmed for all of the devices, there will be multiple SKUs, a few of which will not have 3G.

Speaking to Eurogamer, House states, “The first thing to clarify, which I'm not sure the presentation did a perfect job of doing today, is that all of the devices will have Wi-Fi capability; a separate SKU will have 3G.”

How much it'll cost users to use the 3G network is still being figured out, but Sony's "working hard" on regional partnerships and pricing for 3G, the company noted.

"So the user gets a choice. Wi-Fi is available wherever, which clearly is the most important aspect of connectivity and that connected experience; 3G will be a subset of that," House continued.

Sony is working diligently to ensure that the device is priced within a respectable area in the mobile market, and allowing for options is certainly on the right path. With analyst predictions floating around $249-$299, perhaps it could be both?

Sounds good to me. And sounds like there will be a "plan option" to getting it cheaper from certain 3G providers, such as the iPad, and netbooks.

Because those are mainly PlayStation 1 games... not the nice new powerful games on the PSP2.
