Oh, I agree but that's all I need for my everyday routine. Quick pick up to kill a few minutes. But when my vacations come around I'll need more substance.

I just can't justify pulling the trigger right now as I have 6 months before we go on our next trip.

However once vacations start coming around I'll probably pick one up as it'll be nice to bring a playstation along without having to box up one of my PS3's.

Yes, I take a PS3 on vacations. Don't judge me.
Gaming on iPhone doesn't compare and really do you watch entire Netflix movies/shows on that 3.5 inch screen? All those extra feature like that kills your battery and takes away the primary and most important feature of a smartphone which is calls, text, and email. Want to game, Vita may be a better option. The Vita battery definitely doesn't sounds like it holds up enough to be an mp3 player.

          Re: PSVITA Handheld Information

Guys, I'm not comparing the two. I just don't need a another handheld gadget atm. There is no comparison between a gaming console and a smart phone.

But right now, if I'm not at work I'm at home or the gym. I don't need a handheld console to play music at the gym or kill a few minutes while I'm on a break or lunch watching netflix or a pick up and play mini game.

At home, I have 2 PS3's. So if the wife or kids are watching something in one room I just game in the other room.

Not until I see some vacation time will I really get interested as it will be much more convienent to carry this over boxing up my PS3 and games and taking them along.

I also plan on getting the iphone in august when my contract up, currently have the evo 3D and I don't play any games on it, I need a system I can go to my friends house with and be able to play while they play xbox.

This is easily the biggest competition the PSP has, it has nothing to do with the PSP being able to better play games, but capable smart phones giving you a reason not to lug around another device. Add in tablets/ereaders which after December 2011 29% of all adults own one, the PSP is now competing to be a 3rd device carried around for many.

The phone doesn't need to be able to do anything better, it just needs to be able to do it.

This makes me feel old for some reason, I don't remember the last time I was in that situation.

To be honest, that's the number one selling factor in my case! And, the main reason why my psp was shelved months ago.

                    I'm such a fiend.

All these 3G bundles so they can sell those since they sold terribly in Japan, but man, how about some Wi-Fi bundles here in the U.S.? Those bundles is what will help get these off shelves the first few weeks. On the Sony U.S. blog site they said that there are more announcements coming between now and the launch. Hoping that a Wi-Fi bundle pops up with some cool stuff.

They add a ton of replay value in games, that's why I like 'em!

Nobody wants the 3G version, that's why all the US bundles come with that. The only reason I'm buying the First Edition Bundle is to get it a week early, I'm not going to lie.
