True, but I had it in my head that WipEout was $19.99 [everywhere] and that MNR was $39.99.

Besides, as I said, if they were equally priced, I would rather go with ModNation. Also doesn't help that I will probably be downloading my games anyway.

Wipeout would be a good buy for online but I played a bit on my ps3 the other night and there were maybe 10 people online. I still say it should have come bundled..

        Re: PSVITA Handheld Information

Yeah, it's definitely a toss-up for which racing game I would want.

I played HSG and Virtua Tennis 4 tonight. VT4, like WipEout, just feels amazing on Vita. It could be that both of those games are running at smoother framerates than the other games on there, but they just look and feel great when you play them. Sadly though, I can't sit down with a golf or tennis video game for too long, though I love the sport of golf itself.

So, I'm still definitely hung on the games that I want from the start. I will eventually get MLB 12: The Show, LittleBigPlanet, and an eventual COD game (knock on wood). ModNation Racers will probably be my first pick-up. I'll get Uncharted later down the line, and WipEout if I can pick it up around my suggested $19.99 price tag.

May be crazy but I'm very curious how the next Madden will be on the VITA.
Doubt I get a lot of game for the VITA but so far I know I'm getting The Show and HSG.

It could be awesome if EA really tries. Just look at The Show.

Agreed. Especially of they can get franchise save compatibility like The Show.

Unfortunately, I also wouldnt be surprised if we end up with a feature stripped port and no referees on the field...

Is the Show on Vita supposed to be just like the PS3 or are there some differences.

Almost 100% identical. The only real difference is they trimmed down the presentation a little (ie, cutscenes and auto replays), so that games can be completed quicker.

Ehh... let me clear things up for Dookie, just so he is actually in the know about what changes there really are.

Gameplay-wise, you should expect the same game between the two versions. Same option bases for different control schemes, same ball physics, same sliders and ratings... same game when it comes down to the nitty-gritty of being able to translate one thing to the other. In other words, if you find a gameplay bug in one version, it's probably in the other as well (I don't mean to spin this all in a negative way, but that's what I wanted to get across really).

Also, when it comes to the available game modes themselves, you should expect the same things. Season, Franchise, Road to the Show, and Home Run Derby should have you expecting the exact same kind of feature sets in all of them. If not, it wouldn't make sense that you could import franchise and RttS save files from one version to the other. So trade logic, point earnings, newsfeeds, front office management, etc. should all be the exact same in this game.

Now, here is where the games differ, as far as I've noticed:

                    - This one is obvious, but the controls will have to slightly be mapped differently. With the Vita missing two shoulder buttons, pressure-sensitive face buttons, clickable analog sticks, Dualshock vibration, and with touchscreen/rear touchpad inclusion, they have found different ways to make certain things happen. In other words, if L and R are to advance/retreat runners, there must now be another way to freeze runners. Way off-topic here, but it makes me wonder how we will be able to sprint now in Call of Duty without an L3. Anyway, all of this aside, as far as the community guys have said, they don't ever force you to use the touchscreen if you don't want to (for instance, as every Vita video has shown that you can use it to set your pitch location, the left analog stick is still an alternative for you to use).

                    - Different visuals. Obviously, the game had to be rebuilt and optimized for Vita, so you will see some graphical differences. I'm not saying this is inexcusable, I'm just pointing out that there will be differences. While the lighting system might be the same, the one big difference you will be able to notice is that it will run in 30 frames per second, not 60 FPS.

                    - Different interfaces. Again, something that was an obvious Vita decision so that you could see information on the screen in the right way and so that you could use your finger to touch anything on screen as well. The ball is also enlarged when put in play, and there is a textual "OUT" and "FOUL" that will pop up during those respective situations as well.

                    - Presentation changes. As DD mentioned, they creatively stripped down certain components of the game to ensure that you can get a speedier experience on a handheld. This means that they have left the gameplay fat in, and trimmed some presentation aspects. There will not be any camera cuts between pitches or after plays. There also won't be any automatic replays (or so it seems from the videos we've seen). Once a play is over, the next batter will be walking into the box with his stats popping up on the screen. Because of this, I wonder how much post-play color commentary there will be in the game, which leads me to believe that Soup and Eric have lines which are, for the most part, limited to mid-at-bat scenarios. We will see when the game comes out, though.

                    - The newly unveiled Diamond Dynasty mode will not be on the Vita version. Again, this is by no means any complaint; I am just stating a fact. So, while I said that each game mode which is in both games will be treated identically, the Vita version simply won't have D.D. Handhelds certainly do have some limitations, and this mode looks massive. I don't blame them for not being able to have it on there.

                    - Challenge of the Week will also not be on the Vita. I haven't ever played it before on PS3 myself, so this wouldn't be a bother of mine either way, but for those who do play it... well, there you go.

                    - No Sounds of the Show. The Vita does allow you to store music on your memory card, but the game doesn't allow you to access it in the way of being able to put in tracks for stadium events and player walk-ups. I don't yet know if the "Music Mode" in the game is still offered or if we can add custom music to the jukebox, though.

                    - There won't be a replay vault. There is still a manual replay option, and I don't know if that means you can also save replays that way, but there won't be the kind that you can save to your memory card at the end of the game (since the game is completely devoid of automatic replays as is). For the record, you can still save screenshots by holding onto the PS button and start/select or something like that, and I think this is just a general Vita option (meaning you can also do it on the Vita home screen, for all we know).

                    - Not a "difference" per se, but although both games have online play, you cannot to cross-play like you will be able to for WipEout. I'm just throwing that out there, in case you expected to play PS3 users while on Vita. There has been no mention as to whether it's still the same handle that you'd use (obviously it's your PSN ID, but I just don't know whether the records carry over when you play Vita-vs-Vita instead of PS3-vs-PS3).

So... identical game, but there are certain things which either couldn't have fit, or just made more sense to have/not have on a handheld version of the game. But if I came in this thread and asked that question (not knowing anything about it) and got the "100% identical" response I've heard left and right, I would have been extremely, extremely disappointed in being misled when it came to that response. Expanding exactly what actually is/isn't there would have made me much more comfortable with what I was getting.

Probably depend on how easy it is to port over PS3 games and if consumers support the device in the US. Those two things will probably dictate how involved most 3rd party publishers are.

The VITA screen is smaller than the capability of PS3 viewing on a TV (bigger ball though).

LOL yes, my first note that I mentioned was more "blatantly obvious" than the others... but if somebody told me that the game was 100% identical with a few eliminated presentation facets, and I sat here mixing music and drawing up some logos so that I could have my batters walk up to their tracks with awesomely slapped logos on their jerseys as I anticipated using all of this in Diamond Dynasty, and then I got the Vita version to figure out that the game doesn't even offer the mode, I would be ridiculously disappointed. Not in the game, but in what I was told about it.

I'd rather make sure that nobody is set up for disappointment on day one.

                            Thanks for the information.

I wasn't going to get it until yesterday and I decided I would.

What version, size memory cards etc.. are y'all getting?

I see no reason for me to have the 3g version.

How do you transfer saves between vita and ps3?

There are two IGN articles out there: one for reasons not to get the 3G version, and one for reasons to get it. I haven't yet read the latter (will check it out in a second), but considering I'm not going to spend a monthly bill for a data plan, I won't be getting that version anyway.

I'll be getting the WiFi model, and since I want to have my music on it as well as download all of my games, I'll be getting the 32 GB memory card. I think I want to buy the Starter Kit with it for the pocket pouch since I don't think it's sold separately anywhere (they have the travel pouch which is fatter), but I don't think I'll need the cartridge case or the 4 GB card, so I'm going to have to see if someone would want to buy those items off me for a couple of bucks.

If you're asking about The Show, it's all done in-game. They have their own cloud server where you can choose to save your file to it, and it will be instantly available on the other version of the game that you have. It has nothing to do with PlayStation Plus, although I assume you could still do it that way if you would like. The only thing is that you are only allowed one franchise save file and one RttS save file on the SCEA cloud (one each), so you can't either have multiple franchises or multiple backups. For me, the latter will be very important because of fatal franchise crashes, which is why I love PS+ and its automatic cloud storage save feature.

Would you choose the PS Vita 3G version or.......the mystery box?
